oh.....if you want to know the whole story....come out for a ride....and dinner is on you

...I'm sure most people think you're trolling. ;)

love how the cop gets out with the gun out. yeah, that guy is gonna be a real threat after taking a bail like that with no gear

uhh, i'm pretty sure he hit a drainage ditch pipe... and um, if I was a cop, I'd always expect the unexpected.. like when the villain in a horror movie pops up agonizingly after being stabbed/shot .. you never know, maybe he had a ninjastar in his boot :p hahaha

Some dude just ran from the cops on Markham rd in scarboro. He passed me like I was parked two cops in pursuit. Anyone here lol

hmmm.. seems like its the day to run.. (see Red SV Running post) but, seriously is this a common occurrence ?? I didnt think so..

btw - the roads are a bit wet.. I wonder how he made out

I can see why people would run, maybe you have a couple tickets already, you need your license, you don't need the insurance boost... you know how to ride so you run :)

I know a guy who has out run the cops more than a few times :)

when the gov makes anything too expensive people think hard about the alternatives, high tax on smokes fuels organized crime, prohibition on weed fuels organized crime, high tickets for "stunting" fuels running... really no difference. The more things the nanny state makes illegal the more criminal actions they enable.

whether it's right or wrong is moot when the gov is doing it's best to put you in the poor house.

speaking of the poor house, how about the awesome job the ON Libs are doing with the provincial debt LOL! and people keep electing these fools :(

Poor house or funeral home:( Even suicides are illegal:) Have you seen the price of a simple funeral?:( What's the alternative there:confused: A self induced coma:eek: OHIP picks up the tab, smooth sailing all the way:) Somebody should start a website: www.almostflatline.calm with a toll free number, same day pickup:D

....I'd rather look at probability. The more you do something the more the odds of an adverse event occuring increase. Adverse event = get killed, kill someone else, get caught, get injured.

You choose. I'm a safe investor, I don't like getting burned.

Although this might seem right, its definitly wrong. The probability remains the same.
(As an example, if you flip head on a coin over and over again there is not more of a chance of flipping tails next. The probability always remains 50%).

Well, "professor" jc100 did his PhD thesis on probability so he's got it all figured out :laughing8:

If you flip a coin twice the most it can land on tails is twice. If you flip it ten times it's possible to land on tail ten times. You're exposing yourself to more potential risk, if tails are to be avoided, by flipping it more often. That seems right to me.

Absolutely! We are living in a world where a cop can watch you make a pass around a car, deem it as reckless (or is it dangerous?) driving, and hit you with a ticket that lands you in hand cuff's and an automatic 30 day license suspension. They are judge jury and executioner right on the side of the road. If you had a job that depended on your license it would be stupid NOT to run.

It doesn't take much to make a maneuver that an ontario police officer could deem to be reckless on a sport bike, which is why i think very soon i'm going to be added to the list of people who are track only. Just cant risk losing my license for a month because a cop decided the way i passed a vehicle was unsafe.

You're using the same flawed logic as "Dr." jc100. Probability doesn't add up for separate events! Each chance you take has it's own risk with no effect whatsoever on previous or future chances you will be taking.

Let's say the chance of winning the lottery is 1 in a million. If you buy one ticket for each round, you will have 1 in a million chance of winning. If you play 100 consecutive time you will still have a 1 in a million chance of winning the lottery! Your chances of winning do not improve by playing more frequently!

This topic reminds me of physics class back in university, when this girl dropped the class because she could not comprehend that 2 object of different masses fall exactly at the same rate of speed from the same height due to gravity. She kept saying "No, the heavier object falls faster!"
I think I was in your class. I asked her what weighed more a tonne of feathers or a tonne of steel and she replied "steel" I said are you sure she said and I quote " Im not stupid" lmfao

Back on topic run all the way. cops cant catch you they are slow and stupid

I was careful not to use the word "probability" in my post. My point was, the more you do something, the more chance that it might go the other way eventually. And that is what one is trying to avoid.
Using your lottery example: while the probability remains constant, your chances of winning are increased if you play more. Why buy multiple tickets if not so?
If chances of winning aren't increased by playing more frequently then why are chances of not winning garranteed 100% by not playing? Shouldn't there be some kind of mathematical constant?

Most intelligent people, in that position, would instead learn how to moderate their throttle hand and not 'need' to run.

some times the police go after those behaving as if they weren't. Sgt. Dennis Mahoney-Bruer is one example. the cop that accused me of stunting (only to drop the matter when i showed him my gps proved otherwise) is another...

Ever get tagged at a speed trap? most intelligent people don't see them coming because it's a place to generate revenue and has nothing to do with public safety.

how about making a left on a timed sign that is obscured just enough from one vantage point to make it impossible to avoid the ticket from the cop standing on the corner getting his quota filled.

Your assumption that intelligent people don't get tickets is without merit.
