Ruckus stolen! stolen? yes stolen

K, that was good:D

What if?

GF not interested in bike anymore. Stages a theft story to throw BF off so she can Pocket the cash from a bike he paid for. OP not getting return calls from police, no way to know what's really going on. GF reports bike stolen, later calls and cancels report saying she forget a "friend" had a key and borrowed the bike. Really, to take a bike by van you need two people. Who would waste their time on a ruckus, how would you motivate a buddy to help with this waste of their time. If I were the op I would find out more about this friend and why she's busy on her birthday.

just to add my 2 cents.

my Hayabusa was stolen out of my parking garage. Metro was ON IT. assigned me a detective who came by and seized the security videotape. The detective actually sat there and viewed the tape for 1 hour in the security office to find the section he needed. sent it downtown to be converted to a format that could be displayed on a computer.

Metro RECOVERED my motorcycle one month later, and arrested the guy one year later, after the jerk tried to re-enter the country after fleeing for 1 year.

My buddy had a $2000 mountain bike stolen from in front of st. lawrence market. police took a report.

My Piaa 1000 fog lamps were stolen off my car while in a parking lot. Police came and took a report.

OP: it just doesn't make any sense that they would turn away your girlfriend like that. they have 2 detectives assigned to your file, right? how can that be if they told your girlfriend that they weren't going to investigate?

might be a matter of location

we even have a fairly clear plate on the tape... I've always thought GPS trackers should go on expensive bikes, but I think I may order one for my 500 now.
The plate will do you no good, it'll be a stolen one.

The GPS trackers do nothing. Even the scum bag occasional thief's have GPS/GSM/CDMA blockers in their vans now, $40, plugs into the cigarette lighter socket :(

My experience is that the police are about as usefull as a steaming turd to the average citizen. They are underworked big time and lazy, the average T.O. cop responds to a whopping 1 call every 2 shifts. No point in even going to them they don't care.

I agree with with this post except the 1 call every 2 shift deal.

It is from an article written by John Sewell for the Star I will look it up when I get a chance.

You agree that it's the dumbest statement ever made on any site, despite the fact that he provided an authoritative source for it?

OK then.

I was referring to the call/shift point.
Authoritative source you say meh...you actually believe all that you read in a newspaper?

I was referring to the call/shift point.

So by saying you agreed it was the stupid post in the history of the internet, you figure that's an accurate way of referring to the argument and not the poster?

Authoritative source you say meh...you actually believe all that you read in a newspaper?

Authoritative means it's trustworthy, not that it's correct. If we only allowed statements on here that were proven factually correct it would be a dead forum.

I guess there are two types of bikers....

ones who have had their bike stolen
and
ones who are going to have their stolen

****** THE SCUMBAG THIEVES, sorry for your loss bro
