Ruckus stolen! stolen? yes stolen

seems everyone laughs at anyone putting a lock on their cbr 125 becuase "who would steal a 125". well who would steal a 49?!

yesterday at 2pm a van drove up to my girlfriends parking space, (it was raining so the scoot was at home) and they swiped it (lock/chain did nothing)

we have video footage, it was clearly planned. we even have a fairly clear plate on the tape. the police are disinterested and hung up on her 3 times last night (she was calm and polite, no reason to hang up other than not knowing how to use the transfer button).

I don't expect we'll ever see it again, it's easier to give parking tickets or sit at a desk and collect a salary, video or no. the kicker is she didn't get theft insurance because it costed extra. (I paid for the scoot. last time I'll ever do that for someone).

you know, I've always thought GPS trackers should go on expensive bikes, but I think I may order one for my 500 now.

looks like times are tough on everyone right now.

You need to go into the closest police station with that footage and if the counter cop seems disinterested ask for the on duty supervisor and see how fast he seems interested.

that sucks to here dude. F in people I will never understand it. Keep trying the the cops and make sure you get a report in. They may catch these losers again and it might pop up. Best of luck

Is there a market for these things that I'm not aware of? Good lord that's ghetto....

What a crappy birthday :(

Well if they were stupid enough to leave the plate showing and it's not a stolen vehicle they used or switched plate then it should be easy to catch them.

Not here, probably being shipped overseas. That sucks dude. Thieves will steal anything.

Why don't you post the video here? Who knows what resources some people here may have.

That sucks.

How much could theft insurance possibly be that she would decline it?

Post the video here and on YouTube...

Sorry to hear about the loss.
Anything can and will be stolen. Its just that some items are more of a target than others.
Maybe they're starting small and working their way up? Hope they get busted before they strike again, no matter what size bike is next on their list.

Scooter, bike, bicycle, radios, lawn ornaments...theft is just plain disgusting.
I could never steal from someone who most probably worked hard for their belongings.

I agree; post the video. If nothing else it might help others, who might see these guys casing their own area.

a rukus, wow, that's desperate, must be one of those special order requests..."i need a hyabusa, couple of gixxers, a cbr...and...a...um...rukus"...nothing wrong with the bike, but this would be the first i have heard of one of those nabbed...

That sucks!

I wouldn't be surprised if it was already on its way to the US. There's an entire subculture of Ruckus riders there that bling them out, put on extended swingarms, etc.

Yes, post the vid.

If they rode away on it, you could probably still catch them if you run.

Just kidding. If you can load it in a van and it's out in the open over night I'm sure they will take anything, but ya, I can't imagine the return is very high, even parted out.

Don't post the vid.... not smart idea. Go to the cops first.

Because if you want the Police to have a shot at doing a proper investigation then you wont publisize the vid. Might put a hamper in the investigation if the wrong people see it.

No law against it, just not a smart idea.
