Riding with a BACKPACK?

when i ride to work i carry a backpack or a messenger bag (for work clothes and lunch and sometimes laptop and other garbage). i leave a pair of shoes or two at work. i'd say i prefer the backpack.

helmet hair haha. it's true that most people at work would just think you are tired and/or didn't shower before going to work haha.

what about the 'motorcycle smell' on your clothes(ie: engine, fuel, fumes?!)? received any comments from your (office) work place?

I get motorcycle collar! Any dress shirt gets sooty by the top front fold and right under the rear of the helmet. I combat this by wearing a neck tube thingy.

Ahhhh, the beauty of a small office, non-client facing IT job. No one gives a crap how I look. I haven't shaved in two weeks. A tie? Haven't worn one since I went to a wedding last year.

lol I've been showing up in T-shirts and ripped jeans for the last 12 months n the only comment I get is "pull up your pants" ... gotta love backend IT admins who only deal with ... hell-desks people!

i bought an ogio bag for riding to school. but i couldnt fit all my books in. i ended up just riding with a regular bag, highway, city, no problem at all speeds. if you pack it full and real heavy, it wil be a strain on your back, but shouldnt affect your riding. i mean... if you absolutely jam it full... how much can it possibly weigh? 15-20lbs maximum, probably around 10 on a regular basis...

the only real features that a motorcycle bag is going to offer is the helmet attachment option... but then you have this massive bulge off your bag... i was never a fan of it. motorcycle dont really offer much else special. any regular bag will be fine.

Khakis or dress pants and dress shirt on my 636 and this laptop bag.

Out of all the pictures you posted, the last one looks cool...looks like metal back protector. In any case like most of the response any backpack will do as long as it fits comfortably. Been riding years with a backpack on my back.

One time, I decided to bungee the backpack to my passenger seat and when I got off the highway, it wasn't there. Ha Ha :)
