Riding with a BACKPACK?

I actually prefer riding with a back pack on, I just got really used to it over time. I just use a tactical style backpack i got in Afghanistan, nothing fancy.

i think you need to get laid... I was asking an innocent question as I'm new to the sport.. I'm putting a change of clothes in it bc i work in an office environment. nothing too heavy.. I know i need one that fits.. I wanted to understand the difference between an expensive motorcycle backpack and an inexpensive regular backpack.

Smile... it will make u feel better.

Girl, I thought about the same thing - riding to work. I don't think backpacks are my biggest concern. I'm more concerned with how to deal with helmet hair... lol!

Gotta post this awesomeness again! Is the awesomeness not evident?!?!?!

helmet hair is a badge of honour, don't even worry about it

it does make a difference what you intend on carrying ...

There's a backpack in that picture?

OT: I just use a backpack that I had from a couple years ago for my laptop.

Ya but only fellow riders understand and appreciate it. My coworkers, on the other hand, would be like what? U didn't shower this morning?
Well...did you? I can smell you from here! :p

I got a helmet hair technique. Works a charm, but I don't know if it would work for the ladies. And it's blow dry biased vs the wet look.

backpacks hurt my left shoulder when i used to ride with it. at first i thought, it was just something i needed to get used to becasue i was fairly new at the time. but later bought a magnetic tank bag. so much better.

U care to demonstrate it to ladies sometime? I blow dry my hair.

This week, I bought a backpack for $8.44 from Walmart. It works fine while riding. I'm just waiting for when the Chinese-sewn seams rip and everything falls out in a weeks or two.

Hmm my technique has not been tested on females or long hair.

Essentially it involves blow drying straight and poofy, then applying an Arab skull cap. Cotton and ventilation allows airflow and prevents matting. Position hair as desired, then apply skull cap....thus locking hair in place...theeeeen apply helmet.

Hair will remain in position. Air will flow through hair. When removing helmet, the hair will first appear to be matted and flat, however held in position.

A few shakes of the head and body will return to the hair.

Applying helmet directly to the hair will ruin final position and lead to helmet head. Not blow drying in a poofy or straight syle will result in matting, as a prepoof will be reduced slightly by the helmet. So over-poof initially, anticipating 30% reduction in body. The reduction in body does not however apply each time the helmet is applied, it only seems to be affected once and then remain consistent through 4 to 5 helmet applications of 30 mins to 1 hr stretches.

For retention of curls, applying a light spritzing of water will usually return curly bounce also. Simply wet hands and run through hair to regain some measure of curls.

Repeated helmet apps however does increase natural oil retention and can weigh hair down eventually.

A white skull cap will also filter and highlight the amount of soot that penetrates the helmet and deposits in the hair also. The skull cap has added hygene benefits.

For girls with hair that trails below the helmet line and experiences high speed tangle....I got nothing for ya, sorry.
