Riding etiquettes: honking at distracted drivers?

Yes, they typically look up from their texting and driving, realize they have a train of cars behind them, and pick up the pace.

Do you guys even live in Toronto? lol

Re: if it doesn't work, you've got three options: do nothing, try something else, or go doctor mode (if the medicine doesn't work, increase the dosage haha)

I was more thinking of older people, or someone looking for an address.. or just a slow driver type of thing... not texting.

I live in north Brampton.. We have our traffic issues. I'm too busy watching for people driving the wrong way in lanes and running stop signs at 80kph or more to notice texting. lol

You said it! Other peeve: Who'd have thought staying between the white lines was so difficult.

I live in north Brampton..
My Condolences.
I think it is more important for bad behavior avoidance vs. bad behavior correction, when no matter the outcome if you're on a bike, you'll lose the encounter.

How do you avoid bad behaviour in north Brampton? If I move further from Vehicle A that is being driven poorly, that puts me closer to vehicle B that is being driven poorly.
100%

Thats where his house / residence is.

FFS... As a rule of thumb. Nothing applies to Brampton...

The only viable option, perhaps. It does not nor will it ever make sense to live in Brampton. Ever.

Our business and offices are in Brampton.
We live in a house that is worth a fraction of what they say we can afford.
I don't see much difference in Mississauga, Milton or the other surrounding areas... There's no where in the GTHA that I really want to live.. not enough to bother moving.

I've tried to get out several times but I'd ideally want to move closer to work and that takes me to Vaughan even though we're just south of Steeles. Every time I look at house prices I'd be downgrading from what I have now dollar for dollar so I'm staying put for now until retirement beckons.

But then I hear about this in the news and scream! It can happen anywhere but this type of behavior appears much more common here.

Brampton is a 100 sq. km. garbage dump (citation: worked @ Clark + West for 13 years)

Honest people always ask why don't they just get a job. The answer isn't simple. Expectations are getting harder to meet and the resources are dwindling. Instant gratification comes from food, sex and drugs.

I have to fix my brad nailer and I know I'm going to drop one of the smallest parts. I know it will land on the dirtiest part of the shop floor.

I'm seriously thinking of fixing it while sitting in the bathtub, dry but plug in.
But plug are you worried about sitting on the part

definitely honk at stupid stuff... but I really just gauge my options.. if its easier to just pass him/her rather than honk.. i'd do that...

When I rented a Harley in the states I made sure to honk at no one. As well I had the special finger properly holstered the entire time.

One that deserves a honk is the twit that doesn't know how to use a left turn lane. Instead of moving into the lane like any other lane change they leave their fat A** in the left driving lane.

1) They are blocking an active lane of traffic.

2) They are susceptible to being rear ended.

3) If hit they will be projected into on coming traffic.

Two long loud honks if they have a "Baby on Board" sticker.
