Two iconic Australian actors, Sam Neill and Bryan Brown in a rough early settlement film

fookin white fellas

Sweet Country premiered at the 74th Venice Film Festival on 6 September 2017, where it won the Special Jury Prize award.
The film is based on a real life true crime murder case where an Aboriginal man was arrested and put on trial for murdering a white man in central Australia ...
Quite a last line as Sam Neill is walking away
what chance does this country have?
It was said so sotto voce I would not have heard it without the hearing aids.

Finished up watching all the Mission Impossible movies. The 4th movie on wards it gets much better, still a bit far out on some stuff but to be expected. Tom Cruise looks weirdly different in the older movies to the new ones, I'm not sure it's just aging either.

Titanic in 4k UHD BluRay - keep me occupy for a few hours. Was worth the price just to get Making of Titanic
Trying it with my Rube Goldberg arrangement of my BT headphones while wearing the hearing aids to get the sound contouring of the HAs.
Surprised it works but .....just have to avoid doing that when it is raining here.
visually on the BR 4k is stunning.

perhaps the best of the 4.
Good scan, excellent sound and the right kind of humour mostly.

100% the best one....much fun tho I actually thought he might do a Warp 9 at the end...Wrong universe.

Don't think I dare to segue to Love and Thunder....

Harry Potter binge it is

My only complaint about this movie, and it's a nit-picky one, is that they bookended it with "The Immigrant Song." I felt it only should have been used once, at the end.

Finished off with Ragnarok which is both funny and spectacular and then the first Harry Potter movie - Philosopher Stone and it was better than the theatrical release - the HDR10 just lifts the bar an enormous amount.
Very enjoyable and left me in a good mood.
I avoided the 4th Thor movie as it’s a bit weird, even Hemsworth thought so as well. Ragnarok by far the best of them.
When I first watched the Harry Potter 8 disc set I did not have the TV dialed in and it sure was tonight. The Hogsworth Express was all glistening and popping from the screen.
Interesting that with some of the BR HDR you get both the 4k BluRay and the standard BluRay as well.

Second Harry Potter film not quite as eye popping in 4k HDR tho the detail in dark scenes is very welcome. Sound was excellent.
Downside is my 4k BR player is wanting to hang up and skip at the beginning of each movie. Looked online and apparently fairly common problem not specific to brand.
Panasonic recommends a lens cleaner tho not sure what to get - lots out there with mixed results.
Takes away from the experience as the opening 15 minutes are often exciting and to have them pause and skip annoying.
This time just hung up once needing a reboot to the same place and then as before the rest of the movie was fine.
I'm wondering if I should try the BluRay version and see if it does not happen there since each movie comes with both versions.

On to Prisoner of Azkaban this evening.
This movie starting much darker.
Gonna have to wait until dark to view it even with the enhanced HDR and well rewarded - excellent transfer. All the detail without no saturation for the whites. 🍿

I just watched the Netflix movie "Unfrosted", which was recommended by a friend, and I very much enjoyed it. It's the story of the creation of Pop Tarts, fictionalized in much the same was as Weird Al Yankovic's "biography" movie.

That is soooooo far out of my comfort zone...I don't view comedies anyways ...but damn, they sure got a cast together and it took me on a tour of my kidhood. Dinklage pulled off an American accent !!!
I do miss Tab.

Dinklage is from New Jersey :ROFLMAO:

I like it when he plays a tough guy. Less than four and a half feet tall and the guy can actually pull it off like a champ.

Nooooo - realllly...he's got such a perfect Brit accent in GoT.
What an incredible actor.
Makes me want to buy GoT in 4k HDR BR but $320 !!!!

He was great in "Knights of Badassdom" but it's a LARPing based comedy, so might not be up your alley.

Finished Goblet of Fire this morning and it stayed reasonable even in the graveyard, on to Order of the Phoenix.
There is something wrong with my BR 4k player tho ....somewhere about 25% of the way in every time it goes through a period of freezing and skipping ....then settles down for the rest of the movie.
I don't think it has anything to do with the discs. :(

🤨
Good cast, marginal CGi, the first flick with worse shooting than Star Wars. Very stilted dialogue...could use a
funnybone.
Glad to see him in action ...if you've not seen this on AppleTV ...it's very worthwhile and a very unlikely true story.
Book is excellent too.

On to part two considering myself a masochist. 🍿

Love the robot.
