I don't understand why they do remakes of the good films more than the bad ones.
If it's an interesting story, an new director might be able to make it come alive.
If it's a classic, then a remake is redundant.
Because the good films already brought in money, sometimes a ton of it, so they should do it again. Right?

Nostalgia is def the reason for bringing these back.

It’s funny but I have fond memories of certain things (NES / SNES in particular)…but I prefer to keep the memory instead of playing those games again (they’re horrible now lol).

I look at films like The Nutty Professor, Flubber, Total Recall, Scrooge, Arthur, Karate Kid, etc. but I only like one version. I suppose if I'd been born later, I might like the update, idk?

Anything from the 80's shouldn't be touched. That was a golden time to never be replaced or duplicated!

I'm thinking 50's and 60's myself.

Apparently, Brewster's Millions has been remade a million times.

I have friends who repair and use retro gaming consoles. One has been doing Twitch streams of games like "Futurama" and the "Monkey Island" series. He also lucked into a cache of old consoles and games. Gave maybe half to a guy that's local to him, that runs a sort of museum, near Port Orchard, Washington.

That's actually pretty awesome.

Sorry to side track the thread for a minute:

Andy in this video is the friend I was talking about. MetalJesusRocks is the guy who preserves this stuff. I thought that he lived near Andy, but it seems not.

Like westerns...like true stories too, like them when the guys with the feathers win even better yet....
Not the greatest movie but it IS a terrific story.

Set in Custers time .....the ranch was only finally sold in 2017

Best kind of movie for me - unlikely true story well told.

"Dave Made a Maze" on Tubi - Two thumbs up. Weird and quirky, and reminds me very much of what a movie might look like if my friends at &@ Productions got a budget (and producer interference). Cardboard set "horror"? Yes please. A really enjoyable film.

"Zero Charisma" Also on Tubi - Not so much. The "40 year old D&D player living in his mom's basement" trope is long dead. Hard to believe that it was bought by Nerdist, given that it craps all over their viewer base, but there you have it. I think that I'll watch "Knights of Badassdom" as a palate cleanser (though friends who were involved/know the creator say that it suffered from producer interference).
