Also not sure what the big deal is with Snyder. Not like he has this amazing catalogue of movies that are all solid gold. I am curious if they will recoup their money that was put in for the Snyder cut.
There was a number of 70 mil being tossed around for this version of the movie, which granted them some extra shots, and FX. Honestly I have no idea where that money was spent, it wasn't that noticeable, same with WW84 (not a 200mil movie). I believe most of it was done it editing with footage not used the first time around then re-arranged. Plus the aspect ratio was off, 4:3 squared, yet the other one was rectangular.. ?‍♂️ yes somewhere it was mentioned for IMAX, I call BS, that is such a narrow market and with a pandemic, it feels like they didn't want to spend the money on proper ratio.

I read that as well regarding the aspect ratio. Not sure if it would be a cost thing as most of the movie would have been filmed in a normal ratio I would think. I think this was some strange artistic idea from Snyder as he attempts to be more than he is as a director. The ratio did not really bother me, thought it would take a bit to get used to but honestly I did not find it distracting. WW84 was awful as well, the first WW movie was an ok movies, best of the current crop of DC movies for sure, but nothing all that spectacular in my opinion. I think DC should stick to stand alone movies and not try and do the Marvel thing. Dark Knight Trilogy was amazing, The Joker was amazing, the new Batman looks fantastic though time will tell. All these connected movies just seem like garbage. I do love the new take on the joker, looking forward to seeing him while I slog through the rest of the Justice League movie. Creepiest villain ever.

Agree with the previous review of Final Score. Decent and has some funny parts.

I find DC animated movies to be a lot better than Marvel's by comparison.
Snyders cut was nice...

...but definitely looking forward to this next week:

I like Eddie Izzard, I like Judy Dench, I like spy stories and WWII films...so, on the surface “6 minutes to midnight” a film starring Eddie and Judy and written by Izzard should be a winner. It’s about an English finishing school where the pupils are the offspring of prominent Nazis back in a Germany just before the start of WWII. It’s actually a real thing. However....

This is a total turkey! Wooden acting and a weird storyline. Shame. It could have been so much better. I still watched it to the end.

Zach Snyder's Justice League - Got through about 45 minutes of it before switching off. Every scene seemed like the result of a film student's masturbation dreams.

Watched Godzilla vs. Kong...
Not bad... bit of a floofy storyline, but the CGI was pretty amazing - have to give them a thumbs up there.

So, if all you want is a "Turn off your adult brain, engage child brain and enjoy" movie - this is the one for you. Kind of like the Pacific Rim movies. Just sit back and enjoy - Nobody's winning an Oscar for acting in this one...

Going into a movie about a fire breathing dinosaur fighting an oversized gorilla I would think this is a prerequisite.

You'd think that would be understood. But look at the bashing that Pacific Rim got. Yes, it had terrible acting. Did it have great special effects? Yes... a movie about Giant Robots battling Monsters... But still got stomped on by critics etc. No sense of childlike joy and awe.

Just finished watching LEGO Movie 2 with my son. Great movie. Highly recommend with the kids. Or adults.

I always thought that movie got good reviews. Well I enjoyed it anyways. Not so much the second one though.

Yes and yes. Yeah the second one lost it's charm, I guess maybe because Guillermo Del Toro wasn't involved in it.

100%.
I'm 50. No kids. And yet, those movies are beyond amazing to me.

As for the Pacific Rim 2 detractors - agreed. The mechs seemed a bit wooden and didn't appear to move with proper "weight".
Otherwise, still a movie to watch in a spot where you're stressed and just need to turn off the brain.

I've been a fan of Kaiju movies since the '60s. Watched the original Ultraman when it got translated to English. As far as "Pacific Rim" is concerned it was just meh for me.

Watched Stardust last nite. All it needed was "real" music to be a better film.

Checked out 'The Little Things' with Denzil Washington, Rami Malek and Jared Leto. I thought Leto was great in this. Overall time well spent.
