Proposal to Ban Serving Food to Obese People

I find it hard to beleive that there are people that think this is a good idea.... Imagine the *** kicking they would get from their grandfather.

It is simply a knee jerk reaction by most I think. They have not actually sat down and thought it out yet. Impossible to implement. I can understand the argument if made where the public funds health care, but this is in the states where health care is not publically funded.
Note that I said I can understand the argument, not that I agreed or supported it.
I think they should start to go after soft drink companies to cut back on the sugar. The big increase in diabetics is a huge problem coming.
If this is the same proposal that I read before the senator (or whatever his title is) that proposed the bill is overweight (obese) himself. lol I guess he can't stop his urges so he wants to legislate them out. I guess that is why you see republicans trying to legislate out anything gay. They just want to help their urges :lol:

Nothing. BTW, legislation was just passed to ban you from riding your crotch rocket. It takes more gas than a sub-compact car, has no emission controls and it's dangerous. Dangerous things cost tax payers money for health care.
So yeah. Still think government needs to control everything?
Fat people can be fat if they want, just like I choose to work out everyday at the gym.
If your child is obese you're a crappy parent.
1. I think there was a lawsuit against McDonalds where ppl were suing them for being fat, therefore not surprised.
2. In Ontario if you are drunk you are not supposed to get served with alcohol. Any similarities?

This is an example that they (Cola Execs) know full well the damage being done, but they certainly don't want to mess with a sure thing. Driven by greed IMO.

it may not be a problem in the states where you pay for your own medical treatments, but if this was in canada then it's our tax paying money, and the government should step in, as the administrators of that money.
but i agree that we have way too much to worry about then other peoples health. let them worry about themselves. i have enough on my mind.
I think it's a great idea. What a great way to discriminate against those with medical conditions like underactive thyroid glands. We should starve those people to death, so they don't further burden our medical system. More Medicare dollars for the rest of us slim folks!
And while we're at it, I propose we set the definition of obese to anyone over 10% bodyfat. Hell, I work out like a sumbitch every day, so I'm entitled to way more Medicare dollars than those lazy arses that only do the minimum 30 minutes, 3 times a week...

Ya, but do you have a bowflex body?
I used to think very similar about something else, I thought smokers should have to pay for their own medical treatment if it's due to smoking habits.
But after thinking about it, isn't everything due to a single or a series of bad decisions? Alcohol causes car accidents, so should we ban alcohol? Sports causes injuries all the time, should we ban sports? And the big one, car accidents cost the health care system much more burden than obesity does, should we ban all vehicles then?
The fact is, to discriminate obese people and limit their activities because it's causing burden to the health care system is not good enough a reason to limit their activities
However, I do agree that it is not fair that irresponsible individuals are causing such burden to the taxpayer's funds.
Perhaps a better and more fair solution is to categorize each type of health care issues and charge people a certain percentage based on the event.
For example,
If you get pushed off a building, you pay 0% of the medical bill
If you need health care due to a condition you are born with, you pay 0% of the medical bill
If you get into a sport related injury, you pay 10% of the medical bill
If you get need medical attention due to poor living habits(ex. heart attack because you eat fast food everyday, or lung cancer because you smoke), you pay 50% of the medical bill
If you drive and drive, and get into an accident, you pay 100% of the medical bill
(don't bash on my exact numbers, as these are just examples)

I think they have the complete wrong idea. My idea would be to double their calorie intake. Simply put, they can't take care of themselves, so let's just get rid of them.
Just like the movie Seven from years ago. They force fed that one guy until he exploded..
If the majority is always taking care of the minority, society will never improve and move forward. We will simply become overpopulated and dumb. Oh yeah, get rid of all the dumb people as well, erm, except me of course. We need one town idiot.. Oh yeah and ban birth in Newfoundland too, we don't need any more people from there either.

Actually I think they do. If the arm on the seat can't go down past their blubbery mass, then they have to pay for 2 seats.
Any ways if they pass this proposal, Disney World will go broke! I've never seen such large masses of skin driving around in motorized chairs sucking up every junk food item in sight until I went down there for a week.
