Lol, not saying ATGATT riders are wrong, but quit preaching about how safe gear makes you feel. I know the consequences of riding squid and I accept them every time I throw a leg over my bike. We're all grown here.

Can you link a source to that 99% stat? Didn't think so.
India's and China's population is 2.588 billion combined, which is about 1/3 of the world and they do not wear gear. Not even helmets.
Canada's population is 34.88 million.
Don't speak for the rest of the world when you don't even have sources to back up your beliefs.
If you want to get real serious, North America's population is 528.7 million so the majority of the world actually does not wear gear.

I've gone down with jeans and got pretty bad road rash. I guess I don't learn from my mistakes. Or I take risks once and a while. Or I just don't want sweaty balls riding to work. If you have a problem with that I don't really care and don't need to hear about it. I don't need to see OP posting a picture of my old co-worker riding in shorts on here calling him a squid either. He's one of the most laid back riders I've ever met. Can introduce you to him at some meets if you want to tell him in person about his gear choices. No big deal right?

I would bet you 9 out of 10 people walking down the street would think people riding in tank tops and shorts is absurd (which it is) like I said. To each their own. Everyone goes down sometime. After having it finally happened to me I'd never want to experience it without gear. Sorry to offend the internets. Carry on

think of proctective gear like a condom. is it safer ? hell yeah, but is it better ? Not a chance. lol

before we get into retarded debates, what are leathers really going to do for you ? save your skin ?
its not helping with broken bones, or poles/trees, cars/ etc... to each their own... Im sure the superhero costume crowd laughs just as hard at me, as i do them if they see me wearing a t-shirt / jeans and a shorty.

In all honesty when I saw people riding in shorts and t-shirt before I rode, I thought it was cool as ****. I didn't realize the risks involved at that point. Now that I ride, I'm more aware of the consequences. That being said, I only wear gear when I'm going on long trips or out being a hooligan with some friends.
For everyday commuting, It's shorts, t-shirts and my Jordans!

I don't think that makes you anything. I'm wearing the same and do most days when I ride. T shirt. Jacket and gloves and away we go. everyone is free to ride in what they wish. Do I think riding in shorts is a good idea? No. So I don't. free to choose sure. Making bad decisions happens all the time. Squids will be squids. Who cares just ride
