Not my thing, but this will likely find some love.
My neighbour has one in his driveway. Said it's the best for dump runs, and actual work things.I wish someone would make a simple work truck with a non turbo engine and an 8 ft, box.
That doesn't rust out in a few year...I wish someone would make a simple work truck with a non turbo engine and an 8 ft, box.
This is also done with ford ranger with the VW 1.9alh motor. Bolts right up to ford transmission with a $2k adapter. jeep guys use the alh aswell. Most durable 4 cylinder engine that came out of Germany.Friend in the US just put a small Cummins diesel kit in a Tacoma , 2016 , it’s not fast , but sips fuel and will pull more than the truck is set up for .
Small diesel trucks everywhere in the world , except Canada .

We do that with part of our property. We're on conservation land, we can apply yearly for a big reduction on our property taxes, we'll be doing this and looking for side hustles for extra cash. F the government...lol
That sounds better than where I am. Part of the lot is EP and you have all the restrictions you have (as well as restrictions around tree cutting) and we are taxed on the land at residential rates. Nice buffer but a pricey one.We do that with part of our property.
We’re in the city but have a lot deep ravine lot. About 1/2 an acre is under conservation so we don’t pay taxes on that part.
It doesn’t save all that much, we save around $800/year in a 180x250 piece of land. The down side is you can’t fence that part, build on it, store stuff or till the land. We can cut the grass.
It’s good for me, I have no interest in clearing or building, it’s my buffer zone.
My bro grows 3000 acres of corn and beans in Alliston. I think the farmers market stuff is only local for 2 weeks weeks each August, the rest of the time it’s imported from Mexico and the US.If you’re looking for really sweet and delicious corn. Alliston farm market has the best corn I’ve ever had
Ours is EP too, 50’ back from the river’s high water mark is a no-touch area, we also have city tree cutting restrictions, and my whole back yard is part is part of a regionally regulated woodlot which restricts disturbing and native plants or trees. That sounds better than where I am. Part of the lot is EP and you have all the restrictions you have (as well as restrictions around tree cutting) and we are taxed on the land at residential rates. Nice buffer but a pricey one.
I also ordered mine in February and picked it up about 4 weeks ago. I've gotta say, I was a bit surprised when the sales guy called to tell me it was in.After waiting nearly 8 months my Maverick finally arrived.
Is it a heavy duty truck ? No, but it will carry 500 lbs in the bed, has a 2,000 lb towing capacity (200 lbs tongue weight), and with the tail gate down I could probably carry a cow in it if I had to.
AWD with a 2.0 litre turbo is plenty of jam for me, plus it seems pretty easy on fuel so far.
I'd guess that for 90% of private owners it is more than enough.
Based on your newest thread you may be needing it.I really like the Ranger / Maverick line. Would def consider one if I needed it.
But currently I have no use for a truck…I just want it.
If it ever goes somewhere and is worth it…100% I would.Based on your newest thread you may be needing it.
I joked with my wife that if she REALLY wants to drive the GTI she needs to learn to drive stick.+1 for for wagon.... station wagon that is
I wish more station wagons would be available here at reasonable prices.
I may have mantoined this before here on some other thread but too bad the Subaru Baja never took off well.
