Pickup Trucks

Look into this as I do not know the exact details and fine print.

I was sold by a friend who also has a large rural property in Sunderland, that for tax purposes, your property can be considered a "farm" if you have $5000 (maybe $7000) of annual from said farm.

All you need is a dozen chickens and a chicken coop. $5 a dozen eggs.
BC has something similar. Lots of people selling wildflowers/honey at the end of their driveway. I suspect that most may be a game and the family throws 5K in the pot to save 10K in property tax.

That's exactly what I'm thinking.

I need to see if I can fit a chicken coop on my massive Milton property. :ROFLMAO:

Maybe I can harvest air and sell oxygen in a jar.

We're on conservation land, we can apply yearly for a big reduction on our property taxes, we'll be doing this and looking for side hustles for extra cash. F the government...lol

aha, I C.

Does the conservation part prevent you from operating a farm?

Did you know this before buying or only once you signed the paperwork?

No restrictions in regards to farm, knew this right from the start.

Eggs: Egg Marketing Board

Milk: Milk Marketing Board

Livestock means no vacations unless you have staff.

Run of the mill veggies are a tough market but I wish I could find Sugar King corn. Also, a friend of my late mother grew carrots that could be eaten raw for dessert. I don't know the species.

Start a winery. With a trendy enough name every acre of land in Canada can be suitable for vineyards.

If you’re looking for really sweet and delicious corn. Alliston farm market has the best corn I’ve ever had

Trucks like that are everywhere in Mexico. I'd have to say, the Ram 700 is a pretty sharp looking vehicle. (I saw a few of them in Mexico.)

Not for sale in Canada or USA, and although the Maverick has sold well, I'm not sure there's much market for something even smaller and front-drive only.

I like that truck.

I think that thing would sell well. But I am sure it would hurt the RAM 1500 sales.

Just like the Honda Element was a good car but they discontinued it because it was hurting their Pilot sales. So I have read on the inter web. No real insider sources.

Pro tip , eggs keeps for weeks . Go to Greys near Elora and buy a skid , get all your friends to save egg cartons . Set up mini bar fridge and sell the eggs you bought for $1.85 doz by the skid for $8.00 as organic farm fresh .
It’s farm fresh , just not your farm.

Same with corn in season , you don’t have to grow corn to have a road side stand . Honey is a literal goldmine , just put three empty box hives out back and relabel jars .

You need over 11 acres to claim farm ( put in place since 1000 guys had 10acre “hobby farms” , but then you put farm plates on the pickup and ins rates drop .
Also if you have tillable acreage , never rent it, share crop with the ‘renter’ , two different taxable income rates . You can’t ‘loose money’ renting , but you can when the crop yield is off ……

Yes , I grew up on a farm. We sold butter at a farm market for years , didn’t have any milk cows , if you see how this works

Been looking the Tacoma for over a yr, Just can't justify the cost. I heard that Toyota is coming out with a 4cyl twin turbo in the next gen Tacoma

2023 is the last year of V6 , the 2024 will be a twin turbo 4 as the only engine option . I’m not sure I want a generation 1 twin turbo from anyone , even Toyota .
The upfront cost is more than I like , but they really hold value so it appears .
I’ve always had F150 when I had a truck and they served me well , but I wanted a smaller truck and I think this will be ok.

Congrats @crankcall nice truck. Friends dad got one recently and absolutely loves it but said it’s gutless with the V6.

I prefer the look of the Ranger personally.
