Picking Up New 2018 Suzuki GSX-S1000 Soon

That Suzuki is a nice bike. For performance inline-4 is the only way to go IMO. However, I never like the handlebar buzz on my old Seca past 100km/h. Perhaps they have that under control now. The inlines really make power up top, breathe well, perfect cooling - just a great design for top end. You're going to have a blast on that thing. Just don't kill yourself.

So just got it home an hour or so ago and will have to agree with @Rob Star in that it has a great bark ... could very well be the first bike I do not change the exhaust on.

The throttle is pretty immediate ... from a standstill or when riding, just a small twist and it jumps. I'll get used to it but would've been nice to have throttle modes a la my Triumph which has Rain, Street, Race.

I never expected to have 2 bikes in the garage and may go down to 1 next Spring but will have to see which I prefer - funny how each bike has it's own qualities. Love them all (well maybe not my Kawi Vulcan 900 - what a dog) but I got to the dealer early this morning so went for a ride along Green Lane on the California and I'll miss it. It's a whale but a beast!

Now to restrain myself AGAIN for a thousand km like I just did on the Triumph.

Funny you say that, all the super nakeds except the FZ10 were blacklisted with the few brokers i tried. FZ10 was +25/month over FZ09, go figure.

Also, after way too much youtube and a few trips to the dealer i finally decided on my next ride. No purchase till after the wedding though, so 1 more year to go.
Don't leave us cliff hanging, which one edid you land on ?

Applied some TrimBrite pinstripe ($8.99 IIRC at Cdn Tire) and it's a perfect match. Think it looks better. Comments?IMG_20190728_081607-rim-tape-small.jpg

Because "blind spot". Do it with all my cars and bikes. Just another tool in the "see and be seen" mantra. Always ride with my hi beams on too on my bikes (daylight only).

For about a hundred bucks and change you can put a rear facing video camera on the license plate bracket, then nobody can sneak up on you and you can watch your buddy following you. Put a baggie and an elastic band over the monitor if you need to make it waterproof ;) seeing as you don't have a full fairing.

Your biggest blind spot is directly behind you, isn't it?
... or if your mirrors are vibrating so bad that you can't make out anything.

Bingo.

Pulling in the clutch for a second will help with this, in case anyone was wondering.

Buzz kill  but that will slow me down!

Please don't do that.

It's just hard on the eyes, and a bit distracting (particularly in the rearview) of other drivers. Lane position, and your own awareness will do more for your safety than keeping your high beams on.

Really nice bike though. I had a speed triple back in 05 and added CRG bar end mirrors. They worked as well as they looked in that they "cleaned up" the appearance.

I'm sure you'll enjoy your new bike. Congratulations.
