Peacefully Protest at Police Stations/Queens Park Against Bike Thefts?

A large number of serious criminals are caught because of violating a minor traffic violation.

Thats actually why you see the US cops get so paranoid at traffic stops, with guns drawn and everything, its for sure an overreaction, but thats where it comes from.

I think it's a great idea to organize a peaceful protest to raise awareness of motorcycle thefts. We're a special interests group of motorcycle owners and it's a legitimate cause for us to bring to the notice of the general public that motorcycle theft is a problem that needs to be solved.

There are two objectives:

1) To pressurise the police to do more to bust the motorcycle theft gangs that are well known to them.
2) The pressurize condo companies to increase security. They should be held liable for thefts.

My own 4-month old Honda CBR600RR was stolen from a condo parking in 2008 and even though I received a tipoff on this site about someone who was trying to sell it the police did nothing. I only had liability insurance so I lost my money.

The police are paid by our tax dollars to protect us and if they're not doing their job regarding motorcycle theft then they need to be reminded of it.

How about 100 motorcyclists gather outside City Hall and rev up our engines to maximum? That should get some attention.

Yep, your bike will be attended to the impound lot.

1. pressuring the Cops= fail it's not some save the kids or heart wrenching thing you need them to do. The Public aka tax payers don't like bikers and will likely give the Chief an ear full. So would you risk your job for ppl's toys?

2. the Police do not tell business what to do. The Police enforce the current laws not make new ones unless you are Fantino.

This is the way it is, you do your best.
Most ppl complaining are to F@#$ng LAZY anyways.
Think about it, how many threads about bikes being stolen from condos. They can cut that number down by using an external public storage facility and split the costs with friends or other riders.

If I lived in a ghetto and I buy and then park my new Porsche outside...should I be surprised or get mad when I come out and it is vandalized?
You live in a Condo, a shopping mall for bike thieves. What do you want from US? Deal with your Condo Board or get rid of the bike if you can't afford storage.
It's YOUR PROBLEM.

Very true, totally agree, i would rather overreact then be dead.

First, "Pressure", would suffice
Secondly, these gangs have been arrested and prosecuted and release with minimal punishment by the courts, it is well documented.
Thirdly, Condo's will ban motorcycles before taking responsibility for theft, not to meantion increased security means increased condo fees which will be downloaded onto all the owners which definately won't fly.

Valid points, some condos already ban bikes.

Let's take a vote, raise your condo fees to provide more security for 5 - 10 bikes or ban bikes all together.
I can already tell you a fair amount of people hate your bikes because it makes too much noise in the under ground. You scare the pets, the elderly, and the kids...lol
