It's an oem, factory tank. In 1999 and again in 2001 Ducati put out a "cromo edition" tank in their monster 900ie line. There is some debate as to how many came to north america, but I don't think they are as rare as many of the owners of cromo editions would like to believe.

anyhow, I polish the tank maybe once or twice a summer and it maybe takes me 10 minutes. Other than that I wipe it with a soft cloth once every second week which keeps it shiny.

It's a rider and I certainly don't take care of it in a show bike manner. I do love the bike though and plan to keep it forever. I will figure, instead of keeping it in pristine condition, I will ride the **** out of it, and simply tear it down and rebuild it every half dozen years or so.

Yup she's carb'd last year they made the R6 Carb'd. She runs great!

I am on the R6-Forum. havn't visited it in a while tho.
