Oh don't get me wrong - it was still an awesome day and we had a really great time. I am grateful to GWB and all of the other TD organizers who make our sport possible.

I personally had no problem with Chris telling the noisy folks to shut the F up. I guess he could have been more polite about it, but then again the offenders could also have been more considerate of the people near them who needed to hear the information being provided.

It does seem to me though that people who can obviously run in the 1:20s and are in novice should be moved to hotshoe. Who is it benefiting to leave them there? I guess just the others in hotshoe who have one less rider in their session..but still, novice was a traffic jam and I think the speedy guys could have accommodated a few more of their brethren. Are they just left there to "teach them a lesson" about registering on time?

Just one duck's opinion.

Saturday was a pretty good day, weather was pretty much perfect. The guys at GWB did a pretty good job I would say for the amount of people that were on hand. I believe all groups were maxed out at 25 per group which makes 75 riders total to keep tabs on. I personally would love to see TMP limit groups to 20 riders max. I know this would cut into profits but I think 25 is just too many. Telling people to shut up may be a little harsh but I don't blame Chris since if something happens and people don't know what to do then it falls back on those running the event....he has every right to be as blunt as he was.

I share your sentiments Yellowduck about the passing, I was 2 bikes behind you when the guy came flying up the outside past me going into six and attempted to pass 2-3 people at one time. The same rider did this pass again on me another time, both times could have been bad considering he passed me as I was moving over to the outside just before 6. I hope that I passed everyone cleanly, I never forced a pass on anyone, that's not what track days are for. Another situation was with an instructor/vested rider following another rider and the person being following ran deep into turn 1 and went towards the grass. The instructor/vested rider slowed up considerably in a lean going through 1 to look back and see what happened to the other rider almost causing me to go into the back of them. This was probably the scariest moment for me of the whole day...

My friend on the blue R6 who I believe endo'd his bike after running off at the last turn is alright. He's definitely sore but he's been bugging me all day to get the video from his GoPro working so he can watch the crash. Thanks to everyone for getting to his aid quickly and making sure he was alright!

Keeping my eye on the track day calendar and weather...would love to get just one more day in before the end of the season.

Had a great end of the year trackday.A bit busy but looked at it at a challenging way..who can i pass.? Wasn't too many..Passed the Yellow Duck out of 6..but on the inside.Sorry Huey!
GWB get different reviews of every trackday they hold..I think the reason is people are not used to Chris's no BS statements,or Donald's no BS tech inspection..Thats why i like those guys..
The only proplem are the flags..Shouldn't there be a uni color code per track?

also had a fantastic day; could not have asked for better conditions. sold-out track days always end up with over-qualified riders in the wrong group.

my only complaint was the wheelies. i thought i was at a stunting event. in intermediate, i followed a couple of bikes that were pulling the front wheel 3 to 4 times a lap. some awesome shows on the front straight for the crowd. low rent!

I was bit baffled at the lack of black flags; none during my sessions for this behaviour!

i was not, and did not let this tarnish my first time at TMP; mildly impressed. i hope they chose to flag the wheelie clowns in the future.

Curious if they were deliberate "stunt" type wheelies or power wheelies? I was in intermediate as well and only saw a couple of the guys with 1000cc bikes pulling power wheelies.

I didn't see any wheelies in hot-shoe, even when I was passed by an R1. I'm not surprised though, intermediate is the most dangerous group.

Definitely there were a few riders that didn't belong on our group though. Likely they called to register and int. wad full and didn't want the ego hit of riding in beginner, but it was very dangerous with them parking it in hot-shoe.

Sunday was sensational. Fantastic weather and we had 2 groups of about 20 riders each. Really wish I could get Monday in too, as it should be a repeat in all respects. No serious incidents, and everyone was fairly well-behaved. I enjoy the GWB days very much, and tip my hat to Chris and the gang for the great job they do. Looking forward to doing a bunch of their days in 2012.

Passed the Yellow Duck out of 6..but on the inside.Sorry Huey!

Actually it was 9, and it was a nice clean pass. See, having me out there gives you something fun to do! I tried to hang with you through 12 to see if I could show you my wheel on the straight but it wasn't even close...you were just gone.

I had noticed this as well. Several bikes in intermediate doing 100'+ wheelies on the front straight. I didn't see any in "hot-shoe". After they had done the first few to impress the kids on the wall, what was the point?

Didn't all the incidents occur in intermediate? I saw lots of fooling around that looked just plain dangerous, in particular; slowing on the straights to allow a few bikes to pass then passing them back again a corner or two later. Often standing up the other rider, forcing them wide and in at least one incident I watched forcing them off the track. (that being said, it appeared to me that the two most serious incidents the riders were on their own doing their own thing and not endangering anyone else)

I was riding in novice. I started track riding in July this year and this was my second trip to this track. I was out there trying to learn "the line" and get more comfortable on the bike. There were plenty of slower riders, no problem there, they were in the right group and I tried to do the right thing; passing with plenty of room while up-right on the straights. However, there were a number of MUCH faster riders who didn't treat this as the novice group. Passing within inches of my elbow, trying to out brake me and failing standing me up and forcing me very wide in corner 2, passing 4 or 5 bikes at a time going into corner 1 standing up the leaders of the pack nearly causing a pile up as the leaders slowed significantly, passing in and out in the combination leading onto the front straight...
I understand that hot-shoe and intermediate where sold out, but if these riders decide to ride in the novice group they should treat it as the novice group. There were riders who were on the track for the first time, I'm worried that they will have come away with a negative first impression. Fortunately only a couple of riders in the novice group went onto the grass an no-one was injured, I was worried all day long that we were going to have a serious problem.

Otherwise, it was a great day; couldn't have asked for better weather, friendly people in the paddock, not too many delays lots of time on the track.

Sunday was fantastic. 2 groups & tons of track time.... along with the superb Thanksgiving weekend weather. Barely any downtime or reds.

Curious to find out how the injured rider ended up. Hope no serious injuries. Great day otherwise.

Injured rider broke his collar bone... lucky it wasn't worse for both of us!
Will have video of that fawk up soon.

Good to hear it wasn't anything more serious. Guessing you were on the white bike?

This was my first time taking my bike to the track. I was in the beginner group and had an awesome time. There were a few questionable passes, although it being my first time at the track I don't really have anything to compare it to. None of the passes made me feel nervous, although there were plenty of passes that happened in the curves (riders meeting said it should only happen on straights, or if absolutely necessary on the outside of a corner). I'm just as guilty, having made a number of passes that weren't on the straights. Always tried to use caution and common sense though. Didn't want to spook or ruin anyone elses day. Anyway, like I said above, I had an awesome time and am going to try and make it on Oct 29th. I finally got my right knee down during my fourth session. Never had it down before, and then.... *scrape* I felt like Rossi. Well, almost... I touched down a few more times before the day was out. My confidence continued to grow. Also, I found everyone that I encountered in the pits to be friendly and polite. It was a ncie atmosphere.

Here's a video of a couple of laps in the early afternoon beginner group. Maybe someone can spot their ride?...

No (Valentino Rossi) the kid that got hurt was on the white bike... he basically t-bone me, I didn't know it was coming but got lucky and walked away from the hit minus some serious damage to bike and equipment. There was somebody behind him with a camera and I had a camera on my bike facing forward... As soon as I get the video from behind I'll put them both together and post the video.

I feel really bad that he got hurt but he was riding way past his skill level...

Dam mike.....last track day of the year and you still go balls to the wall...lol. I hope you and the black beauty are ok

I was the instructor and I am sorry if I pulled up short on you....it wasnt something I would normally do but it was so unexpected to see the person that said he was going to go slow go off in front of me on his first turn....my fault. I have gone out with many people and never had this happen before.

Glad to hear that your friend was okay....that was really scary. someone almost followed him right into the wall.

Inferno: I shouldn't have been talking while Chris was doing the rider's meeting. He has every right to tell me to "shut the **** up." I had it coming and I should have known better and behaved accordingly.

my apologies to GWB and the other riders.

We rode Saturday in intermediate and didn't see many wheelies but that doesn't mean there weren't any. I know the guy pitted next to us wheelied down the front straight and did get black flagged.

There were 2 very inappropriate passes IMO while we were out. Both in front of the marshall stations. They weren't black flagged for some reason. But since they didn't upset me I let it go.

The one very dangerous pass where an SV almost took me out in corner 2 did bother me and I pitted and spoke to the marshall.

But, all in all a fantastic way to spend part of Thanksgiving weekend.

Yeah i have mixed feelings as well about GWB track days ..

First off, dont tell your customers to "shut the FCK up" during a rider meeting, regardless of how loud they were.

Secondly, have a look at riders in each group and the pace they were putting down. Some people were in the wrong groups in each class.

Third, the only track day where they tell you NOT to wheelie .. and it seemed the quite opposite. Wheelies being pulled everywhere ..
