Can I just show up on Sunday ? Also what time should I show up to the track ?

lol gotcha, now how about just showing up? I see some ppl saying Saturdays booked,, Hope Sundays not full. If it makes any difference I'll be in beginner group

****. I just registered using the online form and noticed in here that there was a prereg final date.

Looked it up on the site and sure enough on the registration form:

Pre-Registration (and applicable discounts) ends at 5pm of the Wednesday before the event.

I realize it's my fault but wish they would just disable it. Hope all works out and I'm not double billed.

Wicked day today. Hopefully the few crashers aren't too beat up.

Somebody on a yellow and blue bike riding in hot-shoe had a Go-Pro hanging from the tail, and in one of the sessions I was behind you for several laps. I would like to see that if you don't mind. SV #817 Thanks!

Yes, awesome day! Actually not too many wipeouts considering that all the sessions were full.

I have mixed feelings about GWB's policy of allowing passing everywhere on the track, even in the Beginner class. On this particular day there were some VERY fast guys who obviously got stuck with the novices because they didn't register soon enough, and a few were passing with not a lot of space. This policy seems to be new, because that's not how it was at a track day GWB hosted earlier in the year.

On the one hand, there tend to be big speed differentials in that class anyway, so it makes it a lot less frustrating for the riders if they can pass. But on the other hand some of the newer guys (and girls) are not that comfortable getting buzzed in close quarters, and having guys out there who lap 80% of the other riders maybe *twice* every session creates a lot of unnecessary passing.

Anyway, no harm no foul. Not many crashes and those that there were were not caused by passing so far as I know.

I was about the slowest guy in intermediate and got passed A LOT, but there were only a few times that I felt were questionable, like one on the outside (!) of 6 where the guy went by me right at the exit cone. Good thing I didn't need the whole track or we might both have ended up on the grass going pretty fast. On another a guy got right alongside me in 3 but couldn't complete the pass, and then we did that "no you go, no you go" thing all the way through 4 which was a bit spooky.

Yeah i have mixed feelings as well about GWB track days ..

First off, dont tell your customers to "shut the FCK up" during a rider meeting, regardless of how loud they were.

Secondly, have a look at riders in each group and the pace they were putting down. Some people were in the wrong groups in each class.

Third, the only track day where they tell you NOT to wheelie .. and it seemed the quite opposite. Wheelies being pulled everywhere ..

When you get a sold out track day things can get kinda hairy... you can't see everything that goes on, if you had a problem with someone doing a wheelie report them. I know one guy who got black flagged for doing a wheelie yesterday, ...no names mentioned ;)
I viewed the video of the crash in the last corner before the straight... high-sided, very unfortunate. Saw the rider walking around at the end of the day and he seemed to be in pretty good spirits even tho he had a broken collar bone... heal up quick.
The weather was great the track was full of riders... all around doesn't get any better for an end of the year track day.

Back on Monday.... Video's to follow :)

PS - Rider's meetings are important, listening to what is being said is critical!

sat oct 8 , what a perfect day for the track, i am so happy that the only time i dropped my bike was when i got home and i was offloading it form the truck :D.
i have done many td with GWB guys and i like how they run it there is no bull and they will help you more then what they need to.
yes it was a lil more crazy on track then usual because there was 45 riders, yes some ppl should have been in a diff group but it was still fun. it shows those few ppl that think they are fast that they are not.
that was my last td for this year and i am happy of the way it turned out minus the 2 red flags, but in the end they were able to walk away.
see you all next year

Saturday was a great day for me I booked in beginner not by choice still had a great time. I have to admit I had a hard time listening at the riders meeting. Lets be honest you are there to listen and then ask questions at the end. I gave lots of room and made the passes on straights mostly props to all the riders in the beginner class. Tmp booked 25 riders per group there might be a slight more nothing GWB can do about that part. Here are some pictures I took of beginners.https://picasaweb.google.com/lh/sre...2481&authkey=Gv1sRgCI39yMLGja6L2AE&feat=email
