November riders...post your rides. Season's not over yet

Today wasn't bad, except in my area there was a real risk of black ice due to the fog overnight. Yesterday was pretty chilly at O-dark hundred.

I'm currently out in the Uxbridge area, haven't really been here in a long time. Awesome weather, but the roads are a bit wet and still cold up here. Brand new Tourance tires on the V-Strom feel great in the gravel roads up here, but a bit squirrelly at times.

Man are there ever a lot of unpaved roads around here. Lol!

I'm ripping through those roads several times a week. The "airport" lands has quite a few of them. Be aware that over the last week or so Durham Region has had the grader out grading those roads. I don't find my Tourances any issue when riding on them.. just relax and take it easy when you hit them.

BTW yesterday Morning riding into work it was -3 or so when I left home with lots of fog around. I found several of the bridges on my way in had iced up. Watch out for them! (No issues htis morning though.)

Well, tonight was my last ride for the season. I've had the storage unit for the month though. Almost got taken out by 2 left turners, almost got run off the road by an stick figure family Escalade and then got a rear wheel love tap (would've been a nasty crash had I not been checking my mirrors.

Also since we're expecting rain and snow all weekend I think it's about time.

See y'all next season

It appears today was popular day to call it quits for the season. I did that, washed the bike, changed the oil, pulled the battery, etc etc. I am heading to florida saturday for a week. I didn't want to deal with the bike tommorrow otherwise I probably would have pushed it another week. When I get back I will wash and wax the bike better, oil and lubricate whatever, check the air and put the bike into its hibernation spot. My next endeavor is to go the bike show december 8th.

Rode today...for a bit before work....then after for a hour or so....awesome out. If it is the last day...I'll just park it, plug it into the trickle...seafoam in the tank...good to go.

Off work yesterday, came in today to find my Oxford Heaterz have arrived. Now I have a project for the weekend and I'll be prepared for next week....

Which ones did you get? I am having trouble finding a place to install the ones I got for my BWS 125.

Let me know how you like them. I'm tired of having the Royal Dist. ones breaking, or having your throttle hand way hotter than your clutch hand :( I wanted to give the Oxford's a go!

I killed my controller for the Honda ones this year and replaced everything with the Oxford ones. They work even better than the Honda ones - which had one side heat significantly more than the other. The Oxfords are perfect in that regard. 4 settings, I usually have it set on either 2 or 3 depending on how cold it is, 4 would be way too hot. The only gripe I have is that the LED on the controller is very difficult to see in the daytime. Got mine here.

Try the Symtec variety, well balanced for throttle/clutch side, and no resistor for heat control - it uses 2 traces for low/high http://www.motorcyclegear.com/parts...p_warmers/symtec/motorcycle_grip_heaters.html

But looks like they have other similar ones. Nice that it doesn't use resistors. But where the wires connect to the pads, looks the same as the Royal distributing ones? That's where I usually have them fail, on the throttle side. I even install them with an extra loose coil of wire around the throttle tube to make sure the wire doesn't get bent/pulled when going on/off throttle :(

I have the Oxford ones also. Nice feature having the 4 adjustable temperatures.

Jamie, you don't get the one side hot one side cold like you would with the under grip elements, and they also seem to get hotter. So it's worth spending the extra $$ for the Oxfords.

Last year the oxford was half price in the bike show-50$ . They were @ 79$ when i got them from Cycle world a couple of weeks ago.

For the under grips I zip tie the wires to the grip, and the throttle tube. Just need to punch holes on the grip and drill through the throttle tune lip.

Not a day too soon. We're getting about 1-2cm of snow today. Started bright and early.

Did ontario get any snow yet? On the temp guage this morning it was 10 deg. The radio people chiming snow was coming in the afternoon. A 10 degree drop in 6 hours? Yeah right, on my home after work the temp guage said 5 degrees. These radio jerks aways rile people up with their negative forcasts. What's irritating is some idiot from your work will trumpet these radio idiots. If you are going to ride this time of year you better get an mp3 player so you don't have listen to them, check the satellite and radar maps for the real story.

Depends where. There's been snow in northern Ontario on and off for like a month now as far as I am aware.

So far in both Guelph and Toronto today I have not seen any snow. Little bit of rain earlier in Guelph and some spitting in Toronto but otherwise nothing. Right now it's getting pretty chilly and sounds windy out.

Just started my season last week and it looks like it's already done :(

I put 210km on the odometer between yesterday and today. I was hoping to ride a little longer tonight, but decided to bring it in when the snow flakes started falling.

Only managed to put 256km on my new 300.
