North American International Motorcycle Supershow - Jan 3-5, 2025

Got there Sat Just before 2pm and by 2:45 we had pretty well covered the whole place. We re looped a couple of spots, avoided a few others. Looked at a few bikes at a few booths and a little bit of gear. Should have brought ear plugs for walking past the obnoxiously loud in bike stereo sellers. We were looking but saw no one we recognized so we spilt and headed home. We hadn't been in several years and were kinda looking forward to it, I'm not sure what we were expecting but it felt meh, emptier than we remembered & reminded me why we stopped going.
Who would actually ride with music that loud! The booth's near them must hate them!

I think shows should consider offering discounts on admission to families. I brought my two sons just for the heck of it and something to do - they ride dirt bikes but aren't *really* into it, so weren't sure if they wanted to go. At $25 per head, it'd be easy to see people deciding not to bring the family and perhaps then, not to go. I was on the fence myself but ended up spending $1000 on a helmet.

As it was, my sons bought some jewelry (snake rings, ugh) and some wild game salami, as well as food and drinks in the food court, so they spent $100 themselves.
My daughter is 16 and was only $12 to get in. She goes to people laugh, I mean people watch!

The peak on ADV helmets are useless and ornamental. They catch the wind and aren't long enough to stop roost from the bike in front of you when you tilt your head down, like a real MX helmet does.

And if you're getting an ADV helmet because you believe the peak will help block the sun...

We've disagreed on this before, and will continue to do so.

Every time I'm riding home, straight into the setting sun, I'm so glad my lid has a peak.

Some peaks are fixed, some are adjustable. The peak on an Arai XD4 can be raised or lowered; I always have it in the lowest position. And I've yet to experience any aero weirdness.

YMMV.

The peak on my AGV definitely blocks Sun and also catches air but usually not going over 150 anyway
