No peace in Nashville

LOL thats how I spent my teenage years... growing up in a beach tourist town can get boring after your morning surf.

Also apparently this guys ex told the cops a few years ago he was unstable and making bombs, cops knocked on his door, he didn't answer so they just forwarded the info to the FBI...FBI dropped the ball as usual..

Police/FBI/whoever need to have a search warrant in order to be able to go into someone's private property. They need to have grounds (evidence) sufficient to justify that search warrant, or to justify entry without warrant in the case of an emergency - and there had better be an actual emergency in order to do that without getting in a whole lot of trouble. It has to be this way, unless you want a society where the police can search your property and belongings at any time they want without justification. "Because someone said so" generally isn't sufficient justification for a warrant. Ex boyfriends and girlfriends say all sorts of things all the time ... doesn't mean such accusations are true.

If they never found enough evidence to justify that search warrant, they wouldn't have been able to pursue it.

Means the guy was good at covering his tracks.

I doubt there's a sitting judge that wouldn't sign off on a warrant for that.

The only thing I can think of is that while we were living there, we noticed a very strong anti-townie sentiment in Squamish, even though its gentrified quite significantly from the old logging town days. Locals are sick of the traffic to and from Whistler and the cable-cutting was seen as an anti-tourism act.
There's this, for sure, but there's also the 'new' element of semi-gentrified Squamish who've moved there from Vancouver for access to the outdoors amenities and 'rugged' lifestyle. They're the ones with $10,000 mountain bikes hanging over the back of the tailgate of their Tacoma, dressed like hipster lumberjacks: Red Wing boots, rolled up tight jeans, plaid flannel jacket, coiffed beard, indie brand hat (toque or snap-back). They also have bumper stickers that say Squampton...

Despite being part of the gentrification, they are angry at anyone else who gentrifies in ways they don't like, or, as you say, pass through to Whistler. They particularly don't like the gondola because it represents a sort of tourism they're opposed to, partly by offering easy access to nature, partly by commodifying it.

It's a peculiar thing, but the mentality of raising the drawbridge once inside the castle isn't unique to Squamish. Getting angry about traffic when you've moved somewhere with literally one road heading south seems a bit short-sighted, but people move next to airports and race tracks and complain about the noise...

I think the bar has to be higher than a comment from an ex. If that was the bar, it would be standard practice after a breakup to get law enforcement to harass your ex. Maybe providing details is sufficient, maybe more is needed, I don't know but I don't think a random comment meets the required threshold.

Pretty sure I saw my first 5G tower on Mississauga Rd just north of the 403. South of the newer development there....but not 100% sure if that’s what it was.

Do you have a uncontrollable urge to wear a mask while you're driving in your car by yourself now?

That is super common but most people don't like to admit they are part of that mindset. Everybody wants farmland to be saved and development to stop once they have bought their house. Once you bring up that their house was farmland not that long ago, they say that was in the past and we need to look forward. Many of the people complaining about traffic/transit and affordable housing are also complaining about the destruction of green spaces. You can't have it all.

I've dealt with people complaining about a scrapyard that existed decades before their house and saying "Our house is worth 800K now, it is not appropriate to have a scrapyard nearby". Well screw off. Your house would have cost you at least double if the scrapyard wasn't there, so be thankful it helped you get in to the market.

I found myself getting caught up in this a bit, as it's very seductive. We bought an oldish acreage (house built in '85) east of Vancouver, just past Maple Ridge. Inevitably, development started creeping towards us as property values in Vancouver skyrocketed. Every time a new development started and another farm disappeared, it was impossible not to feel a twinge of resentment towards the faceless mass that was threatening the woodsy lifestyle we'd bought into, as well as worry about added traffic that might result. Naturally, reminding myself about how much more the property was worth went a long way to numb the sting.

Eventually, we decided the woodsy lifestyle wasn't for us, and the traffic was rarely that bad. I just hope Mission Raceway survives the development pressure, as it's not too far down the road from where we were...

No....but it may change once I get the vaccine and the chip gets activated...

Its not the vaccine, its the covid test, the swab is an implant tool, that's why they have to push the microchip so far back into your nasal passage, don't want you sneezing it out.
Wearing a tinfoil hat will save your children, the implant is up your nose.

Dont believe me? Put some butter in the microwave. Now turn it on and concentrate on making the butter melt using your mental powers. (take off the tinfoil hat first) . The butter will melt, I can guarantee this.
That's how science works.

The worst situation is the person that holds out and thinks they can keep their country life surrounded by development. You kept your land but it is not the same. Normally the developers are ****** and make servicing your parcel almost impossible. You could have sold for 2.1 million (as an example) and been part of the development, instead you held out, realized it sucked and then are lucky to get 1.5 as you have an awkward parcel that cannot be realistically redeveloped surrounded by development. Honestly, if a developer offers you money, get some advice but normally their first offer is close to the best you are going to do. Lean on them too hard and they will orphan you.

Aw man. Bill gates got me. 5G tower going in down the street. My end is near.

Add thinly sliced fresh garlic to the butter prior to microwaving.

I've had the COVID roto rooter test in March of this year...that chip is in there good...let me go check out that microwave trick.

I had it in Aug, mandatory to fly to mine site i was working in. felt nothing but a little tickle, What i was impressed with when i stepped off the plane 3hrs later the results was already in

Oooo that's a good one. Gonna steal that
Would love to claim authorship but it's one I read elsewhere, I think in relation to pro-Trump anti-immigration Latinos in the US...

I've had a camera shoved up my nose. Not gonna fret over a Q-Tip

They already have redflag laws in a bunch of US states where if someone claims a person is a "little off" cops can kick down their door and take all their weapons. When someone claims a person is building bombs there should be more then a knock on the front door and a quick background criminal check.

The FBI sent 13 agents to a Nascar garage with a door pull that was tied in a noose 12 months before a black driver used it, but couldn't spare a couple agents to go investigate a possible domestic terrorist?

The ball was dropped and the FBI and police failed their duty.

I waited close to 10 days....they had to send it in to Vancouver. But this was still early in the pandemic so they didn't have testing in a lot of smaller hospitals.
