Can we stop with the 50 year old junkers in the reasonably priced or stupidly overpriced threads?

Its just spam at this point...

Like if it was made before 2000 I do not care (unless its italian)

Maybe we need an all encompassing vintage bike thread

Unfortunately the 50 year old junkers are out there - everywhere.
When I started riding there was no such thing as 40/50 year old P.O.S., they were all in land fill.
The manufacturers did too good a job building this stuff, now folks think that buying something that is twice as old as they are for a few hundred bucks is life in the fast lane.
I see it every day at my buddy's shop. When you tell someone that they aren't going to get it fixed up for a dollar-fifty, that they don't want to spend $100 plus per hour to have someone else do it they get offended. When you explain it could be months or years accumulating all the bits and pieces they get offended. Its not personal, just a fact of life.

When you get older, and you see a bike come up for sale that you lusted after when you were younger but couldn't afford it, then maybe you'll understand.

Unless you're an f-n baller and can buy whatever bike you want right now.

Then, in that case, "Full Steam Ahead, Captain!"

All these home owners and no f-in ballars?

all that equity + appreciation = they ought to start their own dealership instead of telling us about random 1970/80 hondas

Get back to me in 25-30 years, we'll see how many KTMs, Aprilias and other exotics are still out there.

in 20-30 years I expect to be uploading my consciousness into the matrix and riding a virtual 996 ducati

Meh, plenty of older folks on here. Those were the bikes they grew up with.

when can i start rolling my eyes every time we see a 2009 R1 with the Toce Quad under tail exhaust?

I understand what you're saying.

This season is absolutely crazy with it. I check kijiji regularly and the asking prices for nearly everything is ridiculous.

I'm trying to convince myself that I need a dirt bike again. Then I look at the prices people are asking and I can't bring myself to blow that money on something that I know is dramatically overvalued.

An XR250, for example would be a great trail bike for my purposes, but when 20 year old examples are listed for $4k plus....it's a hard pass.

I'll keep looking because it passes the time, and maybe I'll get lucky.

Harleys are the only bike that hold the value the older they get that you still see on the roads

I’ll be outside wrenching on and riding my 70s Hondas .
