No more junkers

You got it. Want a job? ?
No. I try to be downtown only a few times a year. Also, I'm not sure I could overcome my love of the vehicles to do the required job. I like to start it, give it 10 seconds to get things circulating and then take it really easy for ~10 minutes until the oil gets heat in it. That probably doesn't work well with a car four levels deep in a parking garage with two minutes notice. I know it's not my engine I'm being mean to and you're probably be gentler on it than many of the owners are, I just don't like to hurt nice things needlessly.

Im seeing a pattern here

Stingy dudes become rich by being stingy?
Not always, but just saying it happens.

on the opposite end of the spectrum, the guy who has the Lambo may have noticed he didn’t hear you bombing down Bay st. when bringing his ride up. Good tip ahoy.

I once had a corvette zr1 owner ask if I took it for a spin. I said of course not. He called the manager over and said next time he drops it off he expects him to let me take it for a spin while on shift. Lol

That being said, once I got a little too addicted to the bangs and pops in an m5 competition on downshift. Turned onto the street and the owner was standing at the curb. For sure I got busted. He just smiled as I handed him the keys and told him nice car.
$30 ?

When I hear valet, I always think of this:

How's the training/hierarchy work? New guy starts off with <100K cars and builds trust? Cars over 1M are only employee Y? Next person up gets whatever rolls up? On the job training on how to get the bleeping flappy paddle gearbox into reverse on that car?

Yeah you’re running for cars, then fighting traffic a few blocks. No time to warm up the juices or back in 3x because you ****** up the first parking attempt.

I suppose the upside is people tend to give you lots of space in nice cars lol.

I’ve learnt not to judge. Seen some pretty rich people in rubber boots and t-shirt

Yeah owner or a ‘senior’ employee would ride with you a few times to see what kind of driving habits you have. Do you actually run for the car, are you comfortable parking quickly in tight spaces, etc.

For sure you’re not getting the keys to anything nice for a while. And even then I would still ride with that person a few times, for instance lowered cars without a built in system to raise the front spoilers can be a ***** without a spotter. RR or equivalent as a noobie? Not happening.

Funny you mention that, some cars can really throw you for a loop on the layout. When you have time to absorb what does what and where everything is it’s fine. When it’s Saturday night and you have 3 guys running for cars with 4 people waiting on the street for you to take their car it’s not too pleasant. Sometimes you just gotta learn on the fly

This is the Maserati SUV, notice where the push to start is?

We used to think it was funny at the golf club , when maseratti first came back to Canada , all the guys wanted to drive the Maseratti , $130K car but there were none around, the $250K GT porche was passed to get into the Italian car. You can have any BMW and it may as well be a Camry. Unless your the guy that brings the M1 , he doesn't let too many guys wheel it. He has his favorites.
My buddy used to bring his McLaren , but its gotten so stupidly valuable even he is scared to leave home with it.

No valet drives any of my cars ever. Not because I don’t trust them just because I would never want them to do any damage. If the car is going to get damaged I’m gonna do it or no one’s going to do it.

F1? I've only seen one in the wild and it was in Michigan. I don't know if there are any in Canada.
I doubt it’s an F1 and he’s deluded that McLarens are valuable..... they mostly depreciate like crazy even the senna hasn’t appreciated ....The P1 has slightly. The F1 has massively appreciated ,I have a McLaren and have owned three of them So I know what I’m talking about. I stupidly Bought them all brand new

So how does that work? Most valet places won't let you drive into their lot. You just park somewhere and walk to the venue?

You pull up in a nice enough car you can park yourself , out front . Give them a big tip, leave them the keys and your cell phone number and tell them not to move it. They will call you if it needs to be moved.

That's why I wasn't sure what he had. They are obviously not cheap but afaik, most weren't becoming stupidly valuable (except the F1). Something like the Senna is holy-crap expensive to start with but kind of hanging out there.

All I see are expensive grocery getters.
If I had the money to buy a bunch of these cars, id just buy a warehouse and collect cool bikes.

I’m going to call this out, is Superveloce remind you of sonnythebull
There can only be one...Although I do want to change my name to blazing saddles

Why not do both...Doesn’t have to be one or the other

Does he have enough money for two warehouses? For the price of a toy car or two you can have a really nice collection of bikes though. Was last year a horizon year where your collection rolled or are you changing the fleet every year? I don't like vehicle shopping, I am normally on a buy and hold program.

More or less, but location is key. You come to my place you’re asking me to keep it parked on Richmond or Bay st.

Right out front is not going to happen, can’t clog up one lane on a 2 lane street during rush hours. I can do Richmond st. and I’ll keep an eye on it but I’ll caution you that if I’m gone for a car and you get a ticket that’s on you.

Ive had a guy in a lifted truck give me **** because I told him all I could offer was the above arrangement, his vehicle wouldn’t fit in our underground lot. In the end I got tired of his lip and told him I’m refusing him service. He went to the restaurant manager to file a complaint. He got told to eat somewhere else.
