Lol... yeah.. sand-bagging it because of that last part.

Which TCX boots did you end up getting?

Also what is everybody's thoughts on what to do about leg armour... I plan to do short-commuting on the bike and would like to curb my budget a little.. here are my two options:

1) Bullit/Draggin Jeans with optional insertable knee armor ($200ish)
2) Buy knee/shin pads and wear my existing jeans over them and take the pads out when I get to work ($50)

If you are not dead set on jeans, go with Joe Rocket Alter Ego 10.0 pants. can be had from $180-220. comes with knee pads

Thanks - I decided to go with some CE rated Knee-Shin armour under my regular jeans instead for light riding and get some proper leathers pants that zip up to my A* GP-R jacket for more serious riding.

I went last year which was my first season with jeans and knee, shin and hip, tailbone armour. Only changes this year will be Kevlar Draggin' Jeans and upgrading the back protector in my Overlord Prime leather to the Icon Stryker CE Back Protector.

If I upgrade to a 600cc I may get the Icon leather pants.

I found a 2010 Ninja 250 with 16,000 km, what does everyone think a good price would be for it?

New 2012 at the dealer are going for $3,999 plus tax OTD. People want too much for used 250s IMO but hopefully if I sell mine someone will pay more than they should. LOL. I'd say $2,500 for that 2010.

Having just bought one (2010 Special Edition with 5K on it) I think 2.5K is a little too low - it was ridiculous that 99% of them wanted 4K+ .. which is new '12 ninja pricing.. I found that ridiculous but after a lot of haggling I found one for 3K (he was still asking 4K) but it has been dropped lightly once and had a small dent in the fuel tank and scraped one of the handle bars a bit. Everything else was replaced/repaired/re-painted.

Update: Just got my M1 today.. pretty excited.. I even aced it with a perfect grade. Can't wait till RTI in April!

Thanks! That's what I hear.. Hopefully my good fortune with the M1 carries on to the M2..

Now just the safety... insurance and registration to go.. next few months are going to be fun..

I feel bad at how much I'm neglecting my car at this point.

And you'll be neglecting your car completely once you finish your RTI course :)
Congrats on the M1 and the 2010 SE... same bike I had as a starter.

Haha my black car hasn't been washed in so long that it is now white!

Possibly going to get the insurance, safety and registration done for early March. I really have my heart set on riding in the first week of March but as I look into the average temperatures I doubt this will be a possibility. Even early April seems like it's going to be too cold - so it looks like I'll be doing my exit test in the freezing cold with a perforated jacket :)

Before I got my bike last year my car was washed and detailed every two weeks. Got my bike end of July 2012 and since then my car got it's first wash 2 weeks ago and the interior done. So don't feel bad now, save that for later when it totally neglect your car!!!

Before i got into riding I bought an e46. I still appreciate nice cars, but do more riding.

You can get a few warm days in march if lucky but dont be surprised to see snow.

You can always do your test in a ski jacket or you can put a windbreaker over the perforated, makes a difference

Sent from my Phone, dont judge the grammar

My only concern from a new riders point of view is to watch out for all that sand, salt and loose gravel left from snow plows. I think it was mentioned before in this thread or another recent thread. Something I'll be considering before heading out since this is my first spring. My bike is in storage until April anyways so I have no plans to head out in March.
