Newbie ride?

As n00bie as you all are, doesn't hurt to have someone there that knows what they're doing. Just sayin.

Yep, that's the whole point of this post. I've noticed a lot of rides posted saying things like "no noobs" or "fast pace, noobs welcome". I've been riding for 34 years, and figured I'd give newer riders a chance to meet/ride without pressure to keep up. I'm very glad to have offers from other experienced riders to come along and ensure everyone has a good/safe day. I love this sport, and always try to make time for newer riders. Honestly, I'm always surprised at the number of people ready to ridicule a new rider when they post up an honest question, no matter how trivial it may seem. If they don't ask, they'll never learn, if they are ridiculed it makes them wary of asking in the future.

Thats one of the worst things you can do as a new rider and yet you see it all the time. Guys trying to keep up, until they can't...

A ride like this is a great idea, only if you have someone capable of leading the ride without doing mach 3 :lmao:

+1. I was sweeping a noob friendly ride last year and had to pick the bike off the kid who tried to keep up. The leader was on a SS and nearly killed the second noob about an hour later. Ride safe.

I remember hearing about that. Sounded like a total flustercuck. No offense to you

Here is a set of routes my riding partner developed for exactly the kind of rides you are talking about. He based out of Richmond Hill
Enjoy. I had a hand in the Escarpment rides.

Thanks for the link MacDoc, some nice easy runs in there, much appreciated. Shane kingsley's big map has been in my bookmarks for a while now, great map. So I'm thinking next Sunday august 4, more details to follow. Anyone who plans to show, please read the sticky "how to ride in a group" in the "rides" forum if you haven't already. I have no intention of leading anybody to the hospital, we will be traveling at 80/90km/h max. Plenty of breaks as needed. Wear your gear! If anyone can't handle just riding and enjoying the day, and feels the need to speed, show off, etc, you will be asked to leave. We are highly likely to have some very new riders, this can be a very fun day and learning opportunity, or it can turn into a **** show fast. It's up to you! The Milton riders group had a problem like this earlier this year, wasn't pretty. Certainly not the groups fault, more one or two riders in general. Having said all that, let's bring our bikes and BRAINS and have some fun!
