New rider, will attempt the impossible...

Yep. The outward appearence however looks like you found a loop hole. To the average Ontarian, it looks like you had an unfair advantage. There in lies some of the hostility towards the OP. But really he was just being tongue and cheek about his licencing path. He didn't reveal much and got a bunch of forum posters riled up.

"Nah nah na boo boo" while walking to the front of the line? Maybe a little. But he came off as playful to me.

Yeah, but the point is he didn't move to the front of the line. He was already in line with his foreign licence. There was no loophole to be found, that's how the system is supposed to work.

You are reading this wrong.

.........

The MTO material isn't always clear, but if you read the HTA you will find the actual definitions.

^^ I posted this reply after confirming it with MTO and a police officer. I am reading it right. You'll get a nice (well, maybe not so) surprise if you get pulled over in your car after having a drink.

It may be a loophole, I don't know for sure. Is it unfair for the average Ontarian? It looks like that. If anybody had a chance to take advantage of some (supposedly) loophole in the system, wouldn't you be first in line to use it? Absolutely!

I just felt really lucky to be able to do this for myself, if anybody got offended by this, it was unintentional. MTO made the rules, not me guys!

Edit: I didn't reveal that much until I was certain with the info, to avoid making a fool out of myself...

...and I'm already hated... ::tear running on face::

"Appearence". I agree with you, I am just saying on the surface, it looks like he eaked out an advantage. He attempted the "impossible" and carried out the possible. He did after all say "attempt".

Welcome to the forum.

I don't have a license in another country so this debate is irrelavent to me... Good luck and hope everything works out fine for you.

We've really run out of things to talk about eh?

So now it's clear, you held a foreign license, and are planning to bypass some of the wait period, not exactly trickery and espionage, people do this every day. You might have messed this up by getting an M1/M2 and not going straight to the conversion when you started.

You mad bro?

What a bogus thread. All that talk of exploiting the system and knowing of secret loopholes and none of it was true. OP was just purposely misleading in his opening claims and simply getting credit for a license from outside the country which he didn't reveal in his first posts. None of that is secret knowledge, anyone coming from another country with a previous M license is told that stuff, and can find it out on their site. There is no way for a normal M2 holder with no previous motorcycle licenses to shorten the time, other than taking courses and getting that 4 months lopped off the end. I call troll too. This board should have ip's visible to see how many multiple accounts there are from people just messin' around..

Hello all,

I'm a new rider and I'm all for keeping my *** on the seat and the rubber side down... while in motion. I got my little white envelope of my M2 exit test and will submit next week to the ministry to get my new plastic in the mail; and then I'll attempt the seemingly impossible...

...getting full M in less than 12 months (you read that correctly)

Safe riding and full gear on bitches!

If you've actually got the little white envelope of the M2 exit test, then when you submit it next week you will have a full license.

M2 exit is the test to go from M2 to Full M.

Argh! typo already corrected. Thx!

Nope, just deeply disappointed. :(

I kid, welcome aboard. Misleading, tales of international intrigue, a most interesting introduction :D

Hahaha, not on purpose though, it just seems impossible to do with a license from a country which Canada has no treaty on motor vehicle licensing exchange.

The fat lady hasn't sung yet, I still have to get MTO's approval...

I am sure that they confirmed the escalating santions. What you are doing, however, is confusing "excalation sanctions" with "restrictions" (a fallacy) so you probably didn't make that distinction in your communications with them either when you were confirming. And trust me, any cop will say anything to scare you out of drinking before driving. I am a full G well over the age of 21. I will not be held to G1 or G2 conditions when I am driving my car. But if you choose to stick to those, then good for you! :)
