Yeah before coming to Canada I used one cylinder 400cc for 2 years. My commute was 20 km in total and most of the time in the city. I enjoyed riding that machine in the city. But when I went for longer rides on the highway, more than an hour over 100 km, vibration was unbearable in every area that my body touched the bike.

This time I’m into a longer commute 200 km at least everyday on the 401 and 20k in the Toronto city centre. That’s why I want to go at least 600c if I’m not mistaken.
ok, since it's not your first bike i see why you would want a bigger bike.
here is a list of popular bikes you should choose from :)

Congrats.
I'm local I can ride it home for you. (seriously I'd be glad to help you get it home - pm me if you want help)
Looks like I don't have to ride to the KW Tasty Tuesdays alone now.

Thank you so much! That would be wonderful but I live in Kitchener :( sorry that you’ll ride alone to KW Tasty Tuesday.

I bought this bike today from Hully Gully in London. Hopefully I’m gonna get my M2 in a month and pick it up. Thank you all for your help.

By the way a couple things if you were not already aware and can be a great help if you are looking for any information about your bike, especially related to maintenance and modifications:

There is a V-Strom forum called Stromtrooper and they have endless answers to things you might want to know if you use the search function there. They also have a sub-forum for Canadian owners. Check it out for some local meet-ups and other info: Canadian Troopers

If you do the book of faces, there is also a Canadian V-Strom group which is pretty active: V-Strom Owners Club of Canada

Lastly, there is a pretty nice V-Strom picture thread over on ADVRider with a lot of pics to show you what others have done to their bikes: The V-Strom Picture Thread

Thank you so much @shanekingsley I have been following stromtrooper since you first mentioned here. I’ll check the rest too.

Kind of modest. You didn't mention you owned a bunch of them and put a kagillion miles on that model

No worries. I can still flog, I mean ride your bike back to KW if you need help.
Hope to see you at the inaugural dinner meet...come on 10C no rain!
Let me arrange the pick up time on a Tuesday so we can ride back to KW together. Hopefully it’ll be 10C no rain on the second week of April.

I don’t think I can fit hard side cases to these racks. They’re more likely for soft bags. Anyways for the beginning I’m gonna need a top case for my daily commute. What do you think about the size and shape(square, round, rectangular) I should get? Which shape is more efficient in volume?

Personally I like the Givi V47 cases, because they easily fit a full face helmet and they seem to have similar angles and lines to the style of my 1st gen DL650. They are also easy to remove with the push of one button and easy to carry off the bike. They are probably more efficient in the wind, but less efficient for maximizing space than the rectangular or square cases.
