Motorcycle show

Damn right I will put the good work for those guys

Dave from Competition has helped many racers and street riders in this forum with not only his knowledge but with deals and tire sponsorship money. Jimmy from Velocity has done a bunch of group buys in this forum and provided pretty good gear for once again not only racers but also street riders and the other 2 weren't there. But my comments had nothing to do with the them in this case, I am biased about supporting the industry and the people that get out of their ***** to promote it.

GTAM was there as well, should't you be supporting them? you spend more time here than anyone else.
and many others that are not my sponsors but are good business that keep this sport alive, the interest in motorcycles up and hopefully with interest comes lower prices for all of us, win win - To me that is worth 20 bucks

Anyways!

That still doesn't make it interesting. Just because you have sponsors & friends there, doesn't make it interesting

Seems like some people just like to ***** and complain instead of offering suggestions to make it more appealing.

RockerGuy, what could they do to make the show better and more appealing for you?

Have a different formula? Change it up?
I don't know? That's not my job. Their job is to entertain me. I'm paying the price of admission to be entertained.

Damn it, just merge the 2 small shows back to 1 big show already!

I saw him there yesterday, I walked the other way

Show was alright, saw some bikes, talked to many known faces, Got the racing license renewed, talked to Ken (SOAR) Sunny & Drew (Trackside Cuts)and they gave me cookies, talked to Jimmy from Velocity and got to check out the heated Gloves, pretty awesome how they warm all around your fingers, if people are looking for good protection on a heated glove can't go wrong with Velocity. I also bought custom made ear plugs and the best part was not coming across any ex girlfriends for the first time.

Then went for chicken Wings with some friends

What else can you expect from a motorcycle show? $20 bucks well spent supporting the industry

Bah, dammit! I forgot to go to see Jimmy. I wanted to check out those gloves.

Ah well, trip to Velocity soon.

I checked the gloves out. They were surprisingly warm and appeared to be well constructed. I hesitated at the last minute which in retrospect was good because my partner completely flipped out over the fact that I impulse bought a (it seemed like a good price) a Cycle Canada subscription of 20 issues for $25. She's worried about money and my contract ending in May. It was unreasonable on her part. But it would have been a lot worse had I bought the gloves.

Anyway, they were good gloves. Thicker than regular summer gloves because of all the layers, fingers of the ones I was stuffing my hands into seemed longer than my fingers. I guess I have short fingers. Should have checked the sizes. Next time.

I'm not the one complaining about it. I find the show useful and go there to try on/buy new gear as well as talk to all the people I haven't seen since September. It's $20 to be around motorcycles for a day.

Ouch. Sounds like you're suffering from a case of BallsInPurse.... ;)

FYI, the January Super Show is now under new management and it shows. The Super Show has had it's ups and downs over the decades but it was at it's best when the manufacturers all supported it. The official story was that the manufacturers wanted a higher class, 'show only" with no venders, clubs, mystery meat sales or half naked women. Well they quickly learned that was a pipe dream. They needed all those participants to offset their costs. So now we're left with two ho hum shows just a month apart.
The best thing for the motorcycle community would be if the two shows merged back into one. But, I don't see that happening anytime soon.

Oh, for those who are too young to remember, the January show used to have live demos, trials competitions and sound offs but regulations put a stop to that.

yea its been the same for years, not planning on going anymore.

But its not twice as many, mostly it is the same thing twice.

That said I usually take in a couple shows a year, but its Vegas, Barber Museum, or Miami. It cost a bit more than $20 but it beats walking through -25c to find reach building.

Are things that bad that 20 bucks is the end of the world? Holy fuckin whining

Same here. I spent all day at the show on Saturday and still missed lots of people/things. As always, a pleasure hanging out with you! Next year bring a Little John for me ;-)

That and spending money on stuff. I never buy anything at the manufacturer's show, just sit on many bikes.
