Motorcycle Happy Place

Just like the talk around the campfire at Mosport.
I wonder what that's like sober?

Only experienced sober convos around a fire when my kids are around....or less than 5 beers lol.

Motorcycle happy place is 100% somewhere in the dirt. MX track, single track, double track whatever doesn't matter as long as it's dirt I'm having a good time.

@mimico_polak what forest tract did you head into? I just started riding in the Simcoe county forest this year so don't know it well yet. I've had my Tenere on the double track in the wildman and orr lake tracts so far but mostly been riding single track on my dirt bike.

@blackcamaro the first spot I went to had an entrance at Crossland and Flos Rd 3 W area. That was rocky and got muddy before I turned around.

The second spot was in the area of Flos Rd 11 W / Eastdale Dr and Twin Pines Dr at the border of Wasaga and Tiny. This is where I got in trouble with the sand.

I believe the first one you mention is Phelpston tract. I haven't been there yet but I believe it is mostly single track.

I live about 15 minutes away. If your looking for someone to join you sometime send me a message.

Thanks will keep that in mind! It seemed pretty wide and ATVs were going through there so I didn’t think it was single track there.

On a hot day when your 1200GS ADV bike gets stuck, falls over on a sandy track at the bottom of a steep hill and as you're sitting on the ground trying to figure out how you're gonna get out of this mess, a pickup truck appears over the top of the hill.

Last weekend I went for the first long ride of the season, this year since coming back from out west, I haven't been that happy here. However, doing a loop at Kinesis lake, sometime in Minden hills, and just being grateful for what we have, seeing road after road, and lots to explore yet in terms of off-road, I felt very grateful, and actually enjoyed more than I did in some places out west.

Although, I'm getting really tired of the few hours hwy ride to get someplace nice, wished I got a truck instead of the GTI, so I could just take that and explore all day, then come back in comfort regardless of night or weather, and some days take the KTM. Seeing how the KTM and places like Scorra/ganny are, I might dabble in just that and sell the T7/GTI to get a truck and explore more. Debated getting a hitch and small trailer for the Golf, though, having taken it on a basic gravel road, its torture and already needed a wheel alignment.

@ScorpionT16 this is the reason that I got my tiny trailer. It’s awesome for those types of cars. I’m still debating buying a hitch for my Volt, or just stealing the odyssey to pull.

You can always find parking somewhere that doesn’t require towing off road.

Which exact trailer did you get, can it be folded and stored?

What kind of roads are you looking for, easy dirt? Have you tried Swift Rapids Rd?

I have not. Just got into this ride a few months ago so still exploring slowly. But will look into it if it’s not too far.

I have many moto happy places:
Exploring a new road I've never been on before and it turns out to be amazing.
Exploring a road that turns out to be not as good as I had hoped, but then seeing something else amazing (like a bear).
Stopping into a random store and seeing they sell cool motorcycle t-shirt, hats and stickers.
Trying a new maintenance task and not completely screwing it up.
Going on a long trip and meeting other forum members or crossing paths with riders I haven't ridden with in a long time.
Going on a long trip and noticing that as the trip goes on, my skills get better.
Going on a long trip solo and meeting the most interesting people along the way.
Going on a long trip with my wife and enjoying the slow pace.
Going on a long trip with other riders and relaxing at dinner or by a campfire after a fun day on the bikes.

Mine is mainly when I get someplace and have time to relax, either during a rest break or at home.

During a ride, I'm concentrating too much on what I'm doing.
