Motorcycle Happy Place

Does this need a wiring harness and license plate? I maybe able to get a trailer to work, If I can find a concealed hitch to put on the Golf, only thing is towing voids the warranty :(
Yes it does. Very few items you tow won't require it. You can get a small hitch and then just tell them you didn't tow anything and it's for your bicycle rack. Simplest thing I can think of.

I was just about to say that.

Used to love hanging out in the pits between sessions and trash talking each other's laptimes. Good times. Happy place.

If you were as fast as your wife we wouldn't have to trash talk ya. Jus' sayin'

And I thought an open trailer did NOT require lights iF you can utilize the vehicle's light/indicators and it is daylight.

May have got that wrong
I’m not 100% but every trailer requires it.

The exception is like @ifiddles had a situation where they were towing a log splitter or something really small.

My trailer sits low enough that you can see the vehicle lights clearly, except the centre light. Not something I’d be willing to test.

Nice bike @ToSlow ! Even the colour is my favourite. Too much $ for my wallet at this stage unfortunately. The 5-7k range is my happy place where I can justify the purchase. For now the X will do but I’m tempted to post it up to see if I get any bites and use the cash for a Sportster. Will call insurance today.

Why Trade for a KLR? The F800GS is 478lbs wet, CBX is 434, and KLR is 432, all have less power, and not much difference in height.

Personally I'd keep the CBX over that, tubeless wheels, much newer, cheaper to maintain, and better reliability. Use the balance saved to get yourself a dirtbike

Why not trade for something that is more off road capable? He mentioned in a previous post he might want to go off hwy

None of the bikes, other than the CRF250 would be anymore capable off road than that GS, in the CBX's case, even less. that Beemer's rear gas tank lowers the COG, making it more suited than anything mentioned, other than the 250. So it's a very odd trade.

Oh, about the OP... having owned the CBX, I think with a good skid plate, it can go anywhere that GS can

I would be tempted if i didn't already put money into extra crap on the bikes i own

The CBX also has much better fuel mileage, is lighter, 4 years newer, and probably smoother/less vibey. Lot's of nice bikes to get for $12k, the CBX+a Dirt bike, and change to spare is much nicer, esp with the new trailer @mimico_polak got

MP, I too have a weak spot for a 883 but I would only consider it as second bike, not my full time ride.

Nowadays with young kids and wife....I’m lucky if I can get out for 2-3 hours at a time. And I’m no longer commuting on a bike.

Only reason I’d get one is to say ‘tried it and loved/hated it’.

Like I’ve said before, each of the Honda 500s I had (F, Rebel, and now X) are great overall bikes. I like them as they do what they need to do with no fuss or mess.

That 800 isn’t going to happen as the guy is most likely going to want a bike + 4-5k in cash. And the 883 will be down the line. No rush.
