Not sure I would compare it to the 800GS, which has spoked wheels, better weight distribution, and imo, a better bike, more comparable to the 850GS.

750GS and 850GS are basically the same bike, with different engine software and 750 got less bells and whistles.

750GS and 850GS are basically the same bike, with different engine software and 750 got less bells and whistles.

Same chassis, but a huge difference between the suspension. 800/850 is more off-road biased than the 650/700/750.

Well worth the extra $$$ if you are planning to take it off the pavement.

And yes, keep the 500x. Lighter bike, and cheaper to fix if you drop it.
