MotoGP 2015

Several rounds of the 2016 MotoGP™ World Championship have been rescheduled.
Thanks for keeping us updated. I've learned not to bother printing out the schedule until the first race starts. And even then sometimes it's wasted :)

The traditional pre-race press conference that takes place at every grand prix has been cancelled for Valencia.
I assume they mean the pre-EVENT press conference on Thursday. Nice. That'll save some bandwidth. I got two extra servers to handle the load this weekend, hopefully everything goes smooth on the motogp .com end.

This is great, CAS has all the authority to overrule any decision made by FIM. They have overruled decisions made by UEFA in soccer and turned the results completely around! With Vale's fame and wealth :), one would hope that CAS will rule against FIM's punishment to Rossi. This last race needs to be a win or lose race for both riders, not handicap Rossi to help Lorenzo win by default...
This is what Lorenzo and stoner mentioned. Rossi gets preferential treatment because he sells more hats. End of the day you might not like them but they have a point.

Just like in basketball LeBron James always get the benefit of a call because a no name was defending him.

They get the benefit of the call because of their general conduct, if they were always involved in controversy (hate to say it but like MM) they would stop getting those benefit of a call judgements in their favour..

It seems like people have a really short memory when it comes to Marquez bumping/nudging/slamming/smashing into other bikes and riders on the track.

I've said before that we don't know how Marquez will race when he can't just clear off out front... Well I guess we know now.

Not really true, though. Lorenzo was punished back in 2005 and he was banned for a whole race and I don't think he ever really was a controversial rider, not any different from Rossi. So the fact that Rossi didn't even get a ride-through during the Sepang race, and might not even get hit with a penalty proves Lorenzo right.

What??? lol
Go watch his racing in that era, always crashing and always causing **** on track, this is on top of his regular piss poor attitude

No. Completely wrong. If you had actually done any reading about why RD did not enforce any penalty during the race you wouldn't have posted that.

Race direction said (On the Movie Hitting the Apex) that the current penalty point system was created with MM in mind because of his previous altercations on track.

I'm well aware of as to why they didn't enforce any sort of penalty. Lorenzo believes had it been anyone else, they would've made that rider go through the pits at least. I can see that.

Guess we'll never know till it happens.

So you think that waiting until after the race when they get a chance to discuss the event with both riders was wrong? They should have enforced a penalty before doing so?

How much experience do you have working in race direction? I'm just curious what qualifies you to state that the decision made by RD was wrong.

Nowhere was I saying RD was wrong. In fact I think they made the correct decision, especially with what's at stake.

And I have no experience in working in race direction. I'm just going by their previous track record. If you want a reference, go watch Catalunya 2011.

I think I misunderstood what you wrote. Never mind!

I think if it had been Lorenzo vs Marquez, with Lorenzo still in the championship battle, RD would have proceeded in the exact same manor. There's a lot at stake and they would not make a rash decision, regardless of who the riders are.

I was always more a Lorenzo fan than Rossi, simply because I love his smooth style. But he's turning me. It's clear what MM has been up too and Jorge should have stayed well out of it.

I'm gonna open a can of worms here (flame away, I've got the suit on).

From everything I know about riding and my own modest share of track riding, as much as I dislike Lorenzo as a person, I admire his riding style. But let's face it---from the spectator's point of view, his smoothness is god awful boring!
