MotoGP 2014

Sorry to head this away from racing again but this is my first time going down. I'm leaving from KW area, we're half way between GTA and London approximately. Going by car. Initially I was planning on taking the route mapquest and my gps listed which goes through Windsor/Detroit. It says approximately 730 Km's for me and about 7h 45m. A co-worker mentioned that it's quicker to go through Sarnia and that you avoid some sketchiness of Detroit. Anyone care to comment on experiences with either or what they recommend? We're planning on leaving really early Thursday morning, probably 5am or so. Thanks guys!

hahaha, no worries... You must be jealous that you're not going to Indy with a throwdown over Netiquette up in here!! :D :D
Damn right I am :( the closer I have been to a motogp rider was in Spain last year at the Valencia Circuit and they weren't even there

My wife thinks I am an idiot for being so happy to be there when there is nothing going on lol

This is true.. border crossing is better, as well.. and a few bucks cheaper. Drive down I69 We are going this way, and have the big choice... I live in the North End of the city so getting onto the 402 is perfect from my house. Straight west. Drive on I69 kind of sucks the bag, but it isn't horrible.

Awesome!! Well if anybody wants to meet up and have a drink let me know. We will be hitting Meridian on Friday and Saturday nights I'm guessing.

+1 for St.Elmo's.

Actually a group of us sat beside Spies' table one year (I think 2010?)

Pro tip: make reservations!!!!! I think last year there was also a gaming convention going on that weekend and everywhere was booked/long wait times.

The dinner was either 2011 or 2012 I can't remember but I know that he was on a factory ride at that time, I think it was 2012 and there was the convention going on in 2012 also as we had to stay farther away due to a lot of hotels being full.

Detroit sucks, especially if you have to stop for gas at night in a nice truck with a motorcycle and your wife alone in the car, ask my wife how we know that one. It also sucks having to stop on the side of the road just outside of Detroit to change a trailer tire with no jack. Wow that was one interesting drive down that year.

Definately the better way to go. Just be ready for the CRAPPY interstates in Michigan, you can tell once you cross into Ohio with your eyes closed as the interstate instantly becomes better. One year (on a different trip) we saw a pickups trailer wheel (rim and rubber) sheer off and go bouncing down the road.

KTM in MotoGP 2017 with V4...

and Suzi may be in before the end of this season.
I think they had said that they will run Valencia (the last round)

By the way, I found one of the comments on the article fairly interesting

"I don't know where all the negativity in the above posts stem from? If KTM wishes they're more than capable of doing it, they currently dominate moto3 (even the mighty HRC have yet to provide a bike capable of consistently threatening their stranglehold on the series) and, given the modular nature of the rules between motoGP an moto3, up-scaling the technology should not prove to be to much of a problem for a company with their technical ability. Plus, if you read the Speedweek piece, they are combining this project with the development of a replacement for the RC8 so its wins all round.

As for motoGP having lost its way, and having to get Honda's permission before making any changes.. (?) Well you've obviously been following a different version of motoGP than me lately. Yes they've won some concessions, but Honda have lost almost every significant technical battle just lately, the change to controlled electronics most notably, and even making veiled threats to quit the series if they didn't get what they wanted soon evaporated after Dorna bought WSBK. Suzuki is coming back, Aprilia are set to step up their involvement, the customer bike and lease engines ideas have filled out the grid, and now KTM are set to step up... all in all I think motoGP's looking pretty healthy!!!"

It must of been 2012, Too bad he wasn't very pleasant especially since we didn't bother him (I must have that photo I took sneakily somewhere)

And I recall the story of the trailer mishap....that was in 2010.

For any rap fans that are going to Indy for motogp. Drake vs. Lil Wayne tour is on aug 9 at the klipsch center (35 mins from the motor speedway).

I just got tickets super excited. Lots of seats left and aren't that expensive.

Clutchlow opts out for 2015 at Ducats. Looks like he will be riding the Lcr bike

LCR Honda has confirmed that Cal Crutchlow will join the team for the 2015 MotoGP season.

The Tweet, which also makes reference to the LCR's new London-based sponsor CWM forex trading, follows an earlier statement from Ducati that Crutchlow is to leave and be replaced by Andrea Iannone.

Crutchlow will therefore be taking over Stefan Bradl's factory-class RC213V, a machine close in specification to that of reigning MotoGP champion Marc Marquez and Repsol Honda team-mate Dani Pedrosa.

14th in this year's standings after a nightmare half-season at Ducati, Crutchlow will be returning to satellite status next year, having finished fifth and the top non-factory team rider in the 2013 standings for Tech 3 Yamaha.

When I read "ahead of time", I interpreted it to mean that Crutchlow (and Ducati) would exercise his mid-contract option to leave early despite being signed for two seasons. I assume he will continue to close out the 2014 season and nothing I've read indicates otherwise.

Smart move, collect some cash for a year, hop on a competitive bike the next. Damage seems minimal.

Can't wait to see what kind of things he can find to complain about at LCR.
Was he a complainer at tech3? I don't remember him complaining

He was complaining at tech 3. The gas tank was to heavy. He could only control the bike when the has was low. He wanted a factory ride. satellite bike was holding him back. He also side parts weren't the same as factory even tho they had factory support. Bla bla bla

Ha I remember now, true - I think he probably will be a little more appreciative of a good ride after the Duc experience
