MotoGP 2014

I called Tuesday as well as nothing came in the mail. Guy said the same thing. Printing company sent them out late and they would be there for pick up. I was still a little peaved that they didn't call or email me to tell me this. I had to call them. Oh well. Less then a week til we head out. I'm going with a group of 4 and we are planning to check in at our hotel around 3.

I believe I paid $40 for 2 days.

Ouch! :(
You can park on Georgetown road in the legion lot for $10 on Friday and Saturday. It is just north of the Mobile home park, at gate 4 if I am not mistaken. Half way down the main straight

Sorry, I paid $40 for 3 days but I am only using it for 2.

Admittedly, I did not do my due diligence for parking. But... I am a "VIP"!

haha that's cool... you did make out alright then! You guys will find everything down there is quite reasonably priced compared to events here (ie BEER!!! Parking, and I think a $7 turkey leg that will make a great photo op if nothing more.)

Don't forget, BYOClamato for you Caesar drinkers down there... and the max cooler size you're allowed is 14" in any one direction. Run what ya brung in terms of beverages, just no glass containers! I will be bringing a 6 pack of Heineken, and a bottle of Clamato that I will premix Caesars in the night before and a thing of red cups for Friday and Saturday.... Can't wait already. :)

Oh and I recommend a collapsible soft one

Wait I'm not following. I can bring my own container for beer?

And thanks for the parking tip.

:(

Everyone heading to Indy please cheer a little bit louder on my behalf..... Won't be
making this year.

That is absolutely correct!!! Just make sure they are in cans!! Cooler size is 14" square or less. I recommend soft, because room around your seat is severely limited, so you can drink all your drinks and then collapse your cooler and not have to worry about it.

Re: the parking, take a look at this right here. This is the place... it is not the super easiest to spot, but that building is fairly unique, so watch for it.

That's crazy. I have to drive home after so I can't really drink. Saturday I can get smashed.

Yeah man, that is our same plan as well! The drive home is not the best haha... Where are you staying?? Downtown area or closer to the track?

lol I would normally say take it to PM but this info can actually help people going to Motogp, and since this is a motogp thread, continue on but if possible summarizing all info in the least amount possible of posts so people don't have to go through a bunch of "reading" to continue to talk about the actual racing :)

No I'm at the Hyatt right by the airport. Says 10 min drive.

Ahh cool... well try to make it down to Meridian to see all the bikes... it is pretty decent, and nothing like Port Dover!

In terms of places to eat, there are a few around... I've not been down by the airport, though.. St. Elmo's is the big steak house in town... pretty pricey but big chances to see actual riders and teams there.

hahaha, no worries... You must be jealous that you're not going to Indy with a throwdown over Netiquette up in here!! :D :D

+1 for St.Elmo's.

Actually a group of us sat beside Spies' table one year (I think 2010?) and I've seen the following riders there (past/present):
Dani Pedrosa
Casey Stoner
Kevin Schwantz
Kenny Roberts Sr.

Also seen Rossi at Fogo de Chao , Ruth Chris' , and Morton's

Also for breakfast or lunch go to Shappiro's IMO amazing style diner/delicatessen

Pro tip: make reservations!!!!! I think last year there was also a gaming convention going on that weekend and everywhere was booked/long wait times.

Just googled... that place looks awesome, Rossi or not!!!

and yeah, hoping that the race being a week earlier this year keeps us off the Larping convention downtown. That was weird!!!
