Putting everyone on the same motorcycle doesn't really prove anything. It all depends on how well the rider's style matches the bike's strength, as well as how the team can set-up the bike for the specific track and conditions they are racing on that day.

But bottom line, MM is just a much better rider than the rest. Period.

having that extra power down the straight sure seemed to help though.

Never hurts, but Mugello has traditionally been considered a Yamaha track because of the chicanes and directional changes, not so much playing into the Honda horsepower wheelhouse. If JLo had any chance of coming close to MM, it would have been on a track like this, or Catalunya or Assen coming up.

I think I recall either JLo or Rossi even saying the next three races (after LeMans) would be the best chance that the Yamahas could beat the Hondas. Certainly hope so, for the sake of the fans!
 
I was thinking the upgraded brake rotors played a role. They all seemed much closer on the braking than in past races.

Cracking race, finally after a looong time.

I am going to say though that if Yamaha and JL didn't win here, they will not have a better chance anywhere else. There is no stop-and-goes on this track, nice and very flowing favoring the M1 surely.

Great to see JL to hopefully get his mojo back.
 
Another heart pounding race! Happy for #46...... That kid though!
Little bit of rain drama at one point. Not sure what happened to JL???
