Mosport renovations

The problem for bikes is,like I said before you use the run off to save yourself.
If the run off is not swept or blown it is just as dangerouse and you would be prone to tucking the front.
It will save a lot of smaller crashes and reduce the risk in some cases. But if you get outside the first lane of pavement you may be at as
much risk and going faster then ever if it is not cleaned.

Sounds like the law of diminishing returns. No safety benefit is realised entirely because people tend to use the extra margin of safety to extract extra performance. Kinda like winter tires get some people stuck further in the ditch, but the benefit still exists overall.

Knowing what was outside of the old turn two wall, that makes me nervous too. More than one bike made it over the wall as it was.

I think it's just an illusion created by the dirt tracks on the pavement. The pics on FB make the grading look smooth.

I can't see what purpose a ramp would serve??

Think NASCAR (banking).

Hmm.. I don't buy it. Extending the straight between 1 and 2 to the bottom of the hill, into a downhill braking zone and a sharp left corner with 10 feet of runoff and then a perpendicular wall? Does not compute.... no matter how dumb most people think NASCAR is.

It's a secret jump a'la mario kart to moss corner.

I'll have to admit that i would much rather have had pavement under me back a few years ago when a rider went really wide and took my outside line at the bottom of 2.Flair photography was nice enough to catch it.

How is that the bottom of two? You're already off the track and the guy in front of you is still leaning hard left. Looks like you got knocked off line at the top of 2, not the bottom.

I'll survive a slide down that hill with my 3000$ helmet & suit and 1000$ daytona boots

I highly doubt anyone else will with cheap gear and soft boots

that pavement just changes the KIND of damage.....bikes will slide 3 times farther

How is your $3000 helmet going to protect you more than a $150 snell/dot helmet? (I'm not picking up a fight, I just don't know)

In true GTAM style::::pLEASE READ CARFULLY

""3000$ helmet & suit""

and I've had 3 (-what should have been-) life ending crashes,,,but survived because of my gear...
and I know how far you can slide with Titanium and kevlar and carbon fiber gear
if you your going to slide down that hill with anything less....good luck
PS::::just remember all the dirt and rubber debris will be covering all that pavement....no garantee you'll ride out a wide turn

IMO unless you're racing there is no reason to push it in corner 2 or 4. Everybody knows those corners take lives, so why be stupid in those corners at a track day? Take it down a notch in the danger zones. I've heard people say the same thing about certain sections at Calabogie, and the same applies at Mosport. Incidents could still happen, but certainly they'd be minimised. Everybody needs to respect Mosport. If you don't, you're dumb, and could get very hurt.

Not exactly. Bikes don't slow down when airborne through the grass, and they don't always land nicely on the same side when they tumble. They will actually stop quicker overall on pavement, and with less damage.

Not that reduced bike damage is the point, but still.

Ya you're probably right.I think the other rider came across me just before the concrete strip. The rider in the pic isn't the one that took my line.
The forks bottomed at least 3 times and the clipons were pushed forward a bit.Respect!!!
