Just saw some pics on fb of work that is being done at Mosport.WTF is going on? I hope they are going to do more than just patch things up.It looks like the concrete is gone, but so are the lines if they don't do a LOT more paving.Anyone?

I spoke with a guy who provides the fuel for Mosport, and he said they are in the midst of repaving a good part of the track.

Ha! Awesome! Those concrete patches scared the ***** out of me. It was ridiculous, trying to chose lines that kept you to one side or the other of those things. Now we can ride the track properly.

I am SO in for the 2013 DOCC Mosport Rally.

Check this pic out! They are really doing it up.

YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYY!!!! I hope they're not ignoring the hairpin. The asphalt there was the worst of the worst.

Cant wait to get back at mosport..... Fav track given its only 45 minutes away

I made the mistake of walking over there one time and was able to count at least 10 different coumpounds of patches. The new surface will be so nice.

I have only been to Mosport once but if my memory serves me right what they are digging up is all off track. The track is still there beside it with the new patch
We are all assuming that they are going to pave the runoff areas. You can see the gravel being laid down in the top of the pic with the green dumper.Running off track in Mosport's high speed corners has resulted in a lot of broken bones.
The dark area is where the concrete patch used to be.I assume they are going to pave it with a tarmac that is tough enough for the cars.

Doesn't look like there will be very many bike events there this year, unfortunately. I, too was looking forward to doing more events there this season but it looks like it will be slim pickings.

Just checked their fb page.Nascar is why they are paving the runoff. Here's a link to an interview with Fellows,http://www.channel12.ca/News/LN/12-11-19/Canadian_Tire_Motor_Sport_Park_Prepares_For_Nascar.aspx

Interesting video clip. So when did Ron Fellows win his NASCAR Championship?

Better question, how did he win one? He’s only ever done the road courses and I don’t think he’s had more then three top 10 finishes since starting in themid 90’s. Who ever wrote that copy should have done their homework!

Also, how much business should Bowmanville truly expect? There’s but only one motel and a hand full of restaurants. Most teams and long time fans of those other series that do Mosport stay in Oshawa or Whitby. So, that’s where they spend their money.

I love Mosport but... there is so much more that has to be done before it’ll every be a major player again. And, if this track in Fort Erie gets built well then, all the Chinese Tire dollars they have and will spend still won’t get NASCAR's Big Show to come.

Bowmanville can expect a fair bit of business. besides the hotels and restaurants, you have the gas stations, coffee shops, grocery stores, convenience stores etc, that will benefit significantly from not only the competitors and the teams, but more so from the thousands of spectators. When mosport is busy, Bowmanville definitely benefits.
