Miss TMP contest, Please vote for me!

Just an idea, if you promote the shop you work at, while at the competition. . . maybe they'll even pay you to go!! Get booty shorts made with advertising on them!! Just saying. . . .
It's too late, maybe next year or for some other event

WTF!!!!

That must really suck!

How can you not compete?

Is it a career or just a summer job?

Phone in sick...and go to the competiton!

**** the job!

Quit if you have to. How hard was it to find the job you have?

You'll look back at this one day and say "I did it"!

OMG! Too many people let others run their lives - keeping them from realizing their dreams. Damn!

My son phoned in sick and placed 2nd in his dragon boat competition - he still has the job.

Ask anyone who got anywhere in this life if they took no for an answer...you will see they ran their lives on their own terms.

Go for it, you got my vote!

(nice pics btw).

Quit your job because you have to work and can't go to a miss TMP contest? really? You do know that there are tons of things like this right? I am pretty sure that she could go to one of the other events if she really wanted to. You don't have to live to work but I don't understand why you would tell someone to quit a job over something like this.

+1...Finally, somebody that makes sense.

My impression was some crappy job, with the typical boss on a power trip, and this competition was very important to the OP.

I just don't get how anyone would allow a boss to have that much power over them - at anytime - ever.

Perhaps I live in a different REALITY - ?

The OP has had the last word on this - and clearly stated - I'm out.

Phoning in sick and then going to an event as you suggested is a totally different thing from asking the boss if you can attend. If I was the boss I would fire someone for the latter and probably let them go to the event for the former. Reality is realising that it's not all about you everytime.

OMG, really?

I was not expecting the OP to use posts on the internet to make her decisions. (Just stating my point of view).

Edit: I will admit to having left jobs in the past to do the things that were important to me...no regrets!

I've already done stuff on stage before, I can't get the day off work. I wouldn't have asked tons of people to vote for me if I wasn't planning on going through with it

I saw you at Calabogie Saturday afternoon.
