Marco Muzzo

He is not charged with involuntary manslaughter, and involuntary manslaughter is not a lesser and included charge for anything that he is charged with.

It won't get swept under the rug any more than the latest fatal drunk driving conviction and sentencing was for a nobody. Precisely because it is a Muzzo, the media will remain all over it.

He will get far more than two years inside because of the acts leading up to it and his prior driving and public intoxication record. A kid with no such record and with spotless character references recently got 5 years for killing two people. Muzzo's money may buy him a good defence, but it won't buy him a sentencing judge.
So...Not much buzz about him now and it's been only three weeks.

Oh that's right... election time...

A year down the road and people *edit, sheeple* will say "Muzzo who?"

Lets not forget his jeep mysteriously catches fire WHILE in police custody, thereby eliminating any forensic evidence testing.

These trials always take years. And his car had a minor electrical fire and nothing was lost??

What would the reporters report over these past couple of weeks? That he is still sitting in jail awaiting a bail hearing? That he suddenly found Jesus?

The media tends to report news when news happens. The next round will be when and if he gets bail, and what the bail conditions are. In the meantime the media is reporting other news.

The media will report the election on election day and Muzz will get his coverage in the coming days as reporters looking for human interest stories take the time needed to interview affected family members to get their response to Muzzo's getting bail and their view of his bail conditions.

Muzzo won't be forgotten any time soon. He will find media attention over him to be like a bad rash that keeps coming back to flare up again and again until a verdict is finally issued. Even the most notorious murder cases follow the same cycle - I remember the buzz-quiet-buzz media cycle during the Bernardo-Homolka arrest and trial span. Same thing. Front page headlines. Second, third, and back page follow-ups after a short while followed by long stretches of silence, then the cycle repeats.

The Jeep catching fire hasn't eliminated forensic testing. Minor electrical fire confined to the front grill area. How does that affect anything? The rest of the Jeep wasn't affected by the fire, including any data captured by the black-box immediately prior to the crash and that might be of interest to investigators.

Well if they have a honeymoon suite at maplehurst they can partner him up with dellen millard i bet they would have lots to talk about:p

So... how 'bout that Tim Bosma murder that captivated the public for.... a few weeks? Where's the public outcry? Do people even know who Dellen Millard is anymore?

I'm not trolling you.. just proving a point that this will blow over with a slap on the wrist. That's the way the system works.. 2 sets of rules.

I don't hear much about the Danzig shootings either, so not sure what point you're trying make here other than the obvious one.

The Millard trial is preparing to start soon. Apparently it is being expedited. It seems quiet now, but that's only because the guy is just sitting in jail waiting for trial. In short, nothing to report. We've been following this closely, as Tim was my wife's cousin.

Millard and his buddy whats his name , Muzzo and his crew, the Danzig situation theres probly morv I forget, boys behaving badly. Thats my point on this and related matters today. Group ride anyone? Bring a tow rope.

If there were two sets of rules, Muzzo would have been out on bail already.

As it is, his bail hearing originally scheduled for Oct 19 will now be held on Nov 12 at the request of his lawyer.

Guess where I heard this? The news.

I wonder in cases like these what is a realistic punishment. Property can be restored but you can't give a parent back their kids. You can't give an amputee back a leg, a paraplegic a new spine.

It wasn't premeditated murder so no death penalty.

If the perp owns up to it and is truly remorseful who benefits from a lengthy sentence? BTW I'm sure there are acting courses in being remorseful for court appearances.

If you made a mistake and crippled someone what do you owe the victim? Should you become their slave for life or at some point does the debt become paid?

In Hollywood the remorseful perp goes to prison, becomes a scientist, finds a cure for cancer and the world is saved. Not going to happen.

Some stuff just can't be fixed.

Here's a thought - How much more guilty is someone who shoots a gun into a crowd and misses everyone compared to someone who shoots a gun into a crowd and kills someone?

IMO The intent is the same so why would there be a different deterrent?

Agreed; do we punish based on intent or impact? Ex. I intended to shoot someone but missed vs. I intended to shoot and hit 4 people.

In the same token, I intended to drive home drunk, but did not intend on killing 4 people.
