man plows through motorcyclists

The bikers are idiots. But with that said, the SUV driver is in the wrong for running over a bunch of people just because he was intimidated. I'm intimidated by 300lb black dudes, doesn't mean I start shooting ever time they get close to me. The bikers were mad, but it's not like they pulled a weapon. You can't justify running over people even if they kicked your car (apparently some biker did that to the SUV).

Man, no wonder people dislike and fear groups of motorcyclists.

Are they going to charge the biker that deliberately brake-checked him?

So you'd just sit there while they smashed the glass, pulled your wife and child out of the car and beat them to death in front of you?

An unfortunate example of how you go from being in the right, to being in the wrong, in one simple step.

When did that happen before the SUV ran over the bikers during the first encounter? You can clearly see the windows are intact when the SUV was stopped the third time in traffic. That's when they smashed the windows.

after he ran over people and bikes he is lucky to be alive.

before anything like this happened he should've just pulled over to the shoulder and let them pass, evey body happy and safe.

Need to see the video that they left out before it starts too. There is way more to this than what is seen in the video. My gut says he panicked when they all surrounded him, as it says his wife and young child were in the car. And you can see at the start the one guy brake checks him but what happened before that who knows.
There is some news about this out there and first said one of the run over bikers was killed but then the statement was retracted. Also says then driver of the Range Rover was treated at hospital for basically getting an *** kicking.
This is a tough one, even for us as bikers, that would be a horribly intimidating situation especially with your family in the car. Either way, going to be interesting if more of the before and after video comes out, and what happens to all involved.

I love how people are saying attempted murder is OK at this point in the comments of that article. The one rider was an idiot for break checking like that but the dumbass driver should have just pulled over and handled it like a collision after that. Instead he decides to run over a bunch of people because he is scared. He created the escalated situation by doing so. He deserved the damage and beat down that he got, and the rider who brake checked deserved what he got to for being a moron.
Funny how the cops say it was the right thing to do but if it were reversed rolls and a biker was being harassed by a bunch of cagers, and the got out of their cars to start something , and the biker decides to try to plow through them, the cops would charge him/her (biker) for attempted murder. Even though the damage caused by a bike is a lot less then that by an SUV (which could easily kill someone).

Exactly. The first encounter didn't justify running over people. No one was beating him up during the first incident. He was just intimidated by a large group of people. I would be intimidated too. But I wouldn't run over the bikers until they start doing something stupid like breaking my windows. Then it's fair game.

He did pull over and treat it like a collision if you look at the video.
Then it turned ugly.
Most likely the bikers just wanted to have some fun by scaring the Beibers out of someone.
But at that point it was most certainly no longer just a collision.
I'm not sure where you're getting that he created the situation from.
He didn't brake check anyone. He decided that the situation was too dangerous for his wife and child and left, most likely for the nearest constabulary.

This is a good example of why the police should clamp down on such demonstrations.

...and how do you know the break checked rider and his idiot buddies didnt escalate it when everyone first stopped?

He did stop, showing intent to deal with the situation. Got surrounded by dumbasses, and we dont know what was said and done then. How do you know they didnt try to smash his windows then? As you saw it took two hits with a helmet (good use of a $500 helmet btw) to break the window.

To be honest, if i was surrounded and next thing i know someone is kicking my car and screaming bloody murder...yuup i'm hitting the gas too. They stopped purposely infront of him, blocking the entire highway BTW. At NO POINT what they did was justified. You have his licence plate, his description and tons of witnesses....let the law sort it out.

Wanna be a total ****ing tool and take over a highway thinking its your play area? Then think of the consequences of other people snapping. They're lucking he wasnt carrying as he was justified to open fire fearing for his life.

Prime example of mob mentality.....

I'm not saying what he did was justifiable but I highly doubt that anyone in their right mind would just pull over and try to rationalize with a pack of bikers...once the rider was bumped the others were just looking to get even and if he pulled over then he probably would have got his ass kicked...if I had my kid in the car I wouldn't jeopardize his safety. I'm sure this could have been prevented but like others have posted there's probably more to the story that we don't know about.

An unfortunate example of how you go from being in the right, to being in the wrong, in one simple step.

Also an unfortunate example of "dog pack" (mob) mentality on the part of the bikers.
I would not have done anything different if I were the SUV driver. There is no rational reasoning with a mob.

He ran over bikes and very much risked killing bikers in the beginning of the shot. No one was running at his car or threatening his family at that point. You cant expect to run over peoples bikes (cars) and almost run them over and then get off Scott free. I cant believe people are blaming the bikers just because they are bikers even when they are clearly the victims. If it was pack mentality, then they wouldve all tried to smash his car before he even ran over their bikes. If us bikers are so biased against ourselves even when we are attacked, we cant expect the public to have a diiferent opinion of us and that goes for cops too.

Clearly the victims?!?

LOL.

If you look at the beginning of the video after he bumps the rider you can see at least three guys get off their bike to confront him...you're telling me that if a pack of riders surround your car you would try to rationalize with them? And I'm tired of the entitlement riders get when on the bike...don't get me wrong I don't agree with him running over the bikes but like I said he had his family in the car...I would rather protect them then a bunch of riders rushing at my car. My .02
