I think the hi-light (or lo-light - depending on how you look at it) from the day was “Elizabeth from Knoxville, TN” onion and rag in hand stumbling away from the Capitol leaning on her boyfriend and responding to the reporter asking her what she was trying to accomplish and replying, mid-sob “We’re storming the Capitol building. It’s a revolution” or something to that effect. It was how she said it, like it should have been common knowledge to all and sundry.
Like “duh”.

There's this awesome thing called Google. It's a search engine. Search engines let you search things on the internet that you may find interesting, or may help you learn things. If you have a question you can probably answer it by "Googling it", to use the new internet terminology.
There's even a tab on the main Google page called "News". If you click on it, current news articles come up. You can even search the news using search terms from that page.
Google is great. You should try it.
Very sad indeed. This also ups the ante for the criminal charges too...there’s a way of blanketing everyone there with some form of homicide charge now but that’s unlikely according to legal professionals.

It's like playing a FPS game as a terrorist and thinking "hahahahhaa the AI is so bad", except it's not AI. It's real.

Personally I don’t see much in the way of prosecution - I might be wrong, but I’ve see enough over the years to know the complexities of prosecuting are often too great to even start.
Domestic terrorism is a bit different than sedation, in urgency or rebellion - the latter 3 have a lot or rights and laws acting as opposing forces.
This was a heinous act and because of the target it will be historically notable. I suspect the only charges will be for individual crimes that happened at the event. Assault, murder, trespassing, little if any related to sedation or insurgency.
They are capital police not paramedics. I'm not saying they shouldn't help, but glorified security guards wouldn't exactly have been at the top of the class.
It sure looks like at least the shooter had drawn a line at that door and was holding the line. They were successful in that mission. Sadly for the lady, play stupid games, win stupid prizes.

They went there to overthrow the government by force. The guards on the other side of the door were protecting those people in the chamber. Were they supposed to let her thru a locked and barricaded door? No.
