MacDoc's new ride 2015 CB300 to 2018 MT03 to 2017 GS310 now sold!

I didn't know you had an F.
That Madstad screen was just fantastic with those winglets.
Yup, had the CB500F as my first 500cc from Honda. It was great, I had it kitted out with 3 hard bags, a windscreen and center stand. Fantastic bike but the wind blast was horrible.

I traded it for the Rebel 500, and then the X I bought off you.

The X was / is a fantastic bike...but i can safely say that when I look at the Scrambler...fak it looks good. And the sound....

Congrats @MacDoc, but I have to ask, isn't this bike very similar to the bike you had before selling through a bunch of bikes?

CB300F - yes to a point

The 500F is physically larger with substantial more power ...twin not single. One category up in the Honda models. Bigger tank etc.
It is very similar to the bike I took across Canada solo when I was 70 and sold to Mimico.

Yeah I understand...I sure liked the looks of the GS ....but just did not work for me at my age. If I didn't get my coin, I'd ride it, still admire the looks and grumble about the clutch.

Frankly I just don't get it with the fixation on "the sound".
So many the first thing they do is put on a loud pipe. I want Marcs Travel Zero.

but it's $42,000 here.
Completely silent, wicked fast 300km range,

Here's the bike you need to work/flip/trade up to, MacDoc:

CFMoto 450MT. It's everything the CB500X should have been.

42hp, 270° crank, 21/18 wheels, about 190kg., accessible seat height, reasonably priced at $9490AUD.

I would have zero interest. There a few around. Would not consider it a target bike at all.
Maybe you missed the not doing off pavement at 77.

Buddy who does do serious outback here gave up on his CB500X Ralleye version. Not enough power.
Happy with the CB500F I'm getting.

There is no real difference between the CB500X or F for my use - especially a 2014.
The CB500F is bought....that case is closed.

I have no interest in a CFMoto anything. I had some interest in an RE.
I have a solid Honda dealer here and buddy had a CB500x as I did in Canada so good knowledge base and support. My riding buddy fully supported this move.
I also have zero funds to spend.
I may not list the CB500F for flipping but .....we will see. Originally the CB500s were out of price range. I was lucky to get for $3800.
Seller moved to a 700 Tenere...much better for his use.

He's on ignore
He'd know how old I am if he actually paid attention. Who said anything about "excitement" ...more power useful - there was never a thrill at the CB500x throttle and even less on the CB300f and certainly not expecting any.
The Yammie had some some small thrill ridden in the high revs but it's only one corner of what I look for in a bike.
There is no perfect bike especially at $4k. Happy with the purchase.

Back in May, 1969 I bought a dismantled 31 year old motorcycle "restoration project" for the sterling equivalent of $170C
Got it together and running in a couple of months. Periodic servicing and overhauls by self since then. Added a period sidecar for a further $2,000C .
Still licensed and on the road. Maybe not perfect, but at 87 years ( and not much older than me) it has been -if not perfect - then pretty close to it.
