Beautiful ride! Congratulations!
My guess is dealer network and overall reliability. Lightcycle has done very well with bmw even with the final drive issues. So i guess the question is, why this over the Multistrada V4? I've been watching more reviews and even the GS faithful are raving about it.
Sorry. I've just realized that I've added to your confusion by being confused myself. I believe I had the "Comfort" term in my head from the 2012 GS I owned previously and I think it used that term. The 2019 RT uses MIN, AUTO and MAX for pre-load and uses ROAD, DYNA for damping. ROAD and MIN gives a "comfy" ride and easier ground reach for a short arse like myself. Mostly I leave it at ROAD and AUTO and after a while I can't remember all the other settings ?Don't see a "comfort" setting. Just "road", "dynamic" and "enduro". I think "road" is the GS version of "comfort".
Also, wouldn't "comfort" be less preload and higher seat height? Gotta play around more with this...
I'm reading the freakin' 3" thick manual like I'm studying for a university final exam.
Bingo. Road/Auto 90%.Sorry. I've just realized that I've added to your confusion by being confused myself. whoa? there's no dedicated grips button? lol GS fail.S'aright. I just spent the whole day riding and fiddling around with all the buttons and controls.
I feel like gramps, looking for his 10-year old grandson to set the time on the VCR.
So many buttons and nested menu options. Takes 4 separate actions just to turn the heated grips on! My old bike it was one switch...
I had to break out the owner's manual at the gas station to figure out how to reset the triptometer. It's buried 4 menu items deep! Dafuq?!?
Great handling bike though. I love it!

German tech is sometimes frightening.
hah. There is, but because I have the heated seat option:
1) the Heated Grip Button takes you to the Heat Menu
2) from the Heat menu, you have two selections: Grips or Seat, use the Wonder Wheel to select Grips
3) from the Heated Grips Menu, use the Wonder Wheel to scroll to the level of desired heat, 1 through 5
4) Use the Wonder Wheel again to confirm your selection
5) Hit the Menu Up Button to return back to the riding screen

sounds about right. is the passenger portion separately heated?
I ran German printing presses most of my time on the workforce. Sometimes the precision and tolerances built into the designs was a roadblock to function.I get it though.
If there was a separate button on the dash for every single function, it would look like the dash of the space shuttle.
But srsly.
SRSLY.
longevity is not at the top of the list for sure.I ran German printing presses most of my time on the workforce. Sometimes the precision and tolerances built into the designs was a roadblock to function.
The Japanese are great imitators. They built machines that are copies of the German designs, without the headaches.
BMW makes a 900 version as wellI was looking at the multis and read some models were to be avoided because of DVT weirdness and flatspots ...thought it was only certain years, then I watched that Zack and ari comparison only to find out its still a thing
Wonder how the middleweights are
(Guzzi v85, tiger 900, multi950, tracer GT)
Argh, so many options

Perfect reason for owning a classic.I was looking at the multis and read some models were to be avoided because of DVT weirdness and flatspots ...thought it was only certain years, then I watched that Zack and ari comparison only to find out its still a thing
