Congratulations @Lightcycle! I envy you. That is my dream motorcycle.
How's the seat height on the 2021? Any difference to your last one?
have almost 300k on my 2013
Not boxers...sheesh, I thought euro bikes explode at 100k?

300K on the SDR would be a long haul. Probably harder on you than the bike. Running the numbers on just rubber for 300K on the SDR would be depressing.sheesh, I thought euro bikes explode at 100k?
Not sure is your GS is the same, but my RT has a "Comfort" setting on the ESA that'll give you more ground reach, a nice cushy ride on your heated butt. That's if you decide to ride on pavement every once in a while of course.I was riding it home last night and it felt *noticeably* taller, was only one tippy-toe on the ground at stop lights with the right foot on the brake.
Got home and pored over the manual and realized that the seat has two settings and it was set to the highest: 870mm (34.3"), so I changed it to the low setting. 850mm (33.5"). Can flat-foot one foot down now, with the right foot on the peg.
So now I know what both height settings feel like.
The old GS had a seat height listed of 840mm/860mm, but the seat saddle was a different shape, like an upside-down U instead of a flat seat, so your legs could drop straight down instead of being splayed out. So the old *felt* much lower, despite being only 10mm lower on paper.
New seat is much more comfortable though.
Heated too.
Turning it on makes me feel like I peed my pants...
XR has something similar. 1 touch adjustment for dynamic or comfort. Difference is massive. Not sure is your GS is the same, but my RT has a "Comfort" setting on the ESA that'll give you more ground reach, a nice cushy ride on your heated butt. Adventure bikes are a fad. Nikens are the future.
Yeah, I guess photography is a pleasant enough past-time, but I prefer motorcycles...
Sorry it's Road/Dynamic.Don't see a "comfort" setting. Just "road", "dynamic" and "enduro". I think "road" is the GS version of "comfort".
Also, wouldn't "comfort" be less preload and higher seat height? Gotta play around more with this...
I'm reading the freakin' 3" thick manual like I'm studying for a university final exam.
