Lets see your track bikes!!!!!!!!

what was the date? cause there was another duc that dove off the track that morning.... i think it was oct 7 ,8th something like that.
it was 6 deg in the morning, first session out 3 people crashed, many left, in the afternoon, it warmed up to 16 and there was only 7 of us with an open track. it was sooo much fun

Nope. I wouldnt of been there .. too cold for my liking.

Hey Colyn, was it you that repired somebodies 1199 that weekend at GBM ?

Hi and yes it was a guy who was there all weekend went down on the Friday...I rode my Triumph on Saturday, then a marshall decided to stop in front of me without indicating his intention to leave the track, went end over!!! I rode the 1199 for the rerst of the day, I got talking to Nicolas who had dropped his 1199 ...I felt bad for him so I took the parts off my 1199...throttle, start switch, right clipon, right rearset, tapped up his body work which allowed him to ride the Sunday, Tony Blue from Bluestreak racing was good enough to meet me locally and drove the parts required to fix my Triumph top bloke that Tony...(Bluestreak Racing in Embro)...you guy's probably already know him?? fixed the 675 on Saturday night, so we all rode together on the Sunday...it was probably the best ride I have ever had....period...just a riot all day....awesome....Well what was I going to do??? you got to help out a fellow rider right????..

better hope you dont crash that 1199 .....they blow apart into 2094877021473289 parts!

I rode the 1199 back to back with the Triumph at the DOCC event at Grand Bend, the Triumph by the way is just sublime....full K-Tec setup, BST rims, Proper Brembo's, Axis Iron rotors, full slicks, quick shift, PCV and Autotune, full race system, Hyperpro damper, YOYO slipper, anyhow after dumping the 675 I rode the 1199 well the 1199 is just a beast but its well-mannered on the track, I took 2 seconds out of my time on it compared to the Triumph...the Duc was bone stock at the time too...I did have the tyre warmers on before each session....but its way more exhausting to ride...but I'm old...lol and unfit.
Nicolas who dropped his 1199 had a slow low side and it was slow....but it was unridable after... mainly due to the right clip-on snapping off, which tore out the wiring for the throttle....no stock of parts anywhere so he was done. I actually ended up repairing Nic's bike for him after the event, it was a good way to prep my bike because I could see the weaknesses after a minor off.

In light of this I will be fitting:- Woodcraft clip-on’s Woodcraft Rearsets , (you have to love the woodcraft stuff just for the ease of repair you can replace individual components) GB Racing engine covers, Sato Frame sliders…I know the 1199 has no frame but these are the next best thing, Pazzo shorty’s, Hyperpro steering damper…the stock unit is garbage, full slicks...I going to try some 190 section slicks instead of the 200's, axle sliders front and rear, Armour bodies race body work, and some Termi’s…you always need more power right ..lol….

There was a video of a Pani going down at speed on the internet…it was completely destroyed, so unless it is a minor low-side all the above will make no difference…but that is what the dedicated Triumph is for……plus the 675 is way easier on my old body to ride all weekend….Thanks Colin.

Taken yesterday.

Yeah, I was pitted right beside Nick and John. I had the red 1098, thats my buddies yellow 916 in the picture. Great weekend for sure, even with the few mishaps on the track nobody got hurt....
I remember your incedent and was speechless after seeing the video.

The DOCC GB event was on okay weekend except for the Gixxer that got scared and peed oil all over the track in the very first session on Sunday morning. What did it take, like 2 h to get that cleaned up? That's the problem with Japanese bikes - so unreliable.

Yes, it was tough looking at that poor squooshed Panigale. I guess I envy you folks who have enough money (or credit?) to bring that kind of machinery to the track...I know they are meant to be ridden, but I'm still not sure I could bring myself to do it even if I had the cash. the older and crappier my bike gets, the happier I am with it on the track.

Was it the stock Panigale? If I'm not mistaken he drove partway up the berm and looked quite terrified when he pulled back into the pits.

I remember a 999 blowing a cam cover plug at a DOCC Bogie weekend. It took a long time to clean up that mess too.**** happens to anyone.

I promised TJ I was going to post pics of the awesome paint job he did on my track bike so here it goes

Got a couple of spare rear rims to change them so it won't be baby blue and a few more things to do but it is getting there. Still have till practice weekend in May

On the subject of Panigales... there's already lots of M50 calipers showing up on e-bay for sale... ;)

I have ridden track days with you on your 675. That bike is killer. Sorry to hear it went down but it's the name of the game

Looks like a big sprocket kellen :)
