Thinking that the driver was just using the speed to make the drive more interesting.
If there was more than personal use amounts they would have laid a possession with intent charge.
I was thinking that he might have been using it as a No-Doze substitute.

People try this sort of crap all the time and it simply doesn't fly in court. It's obvious that you're trying to avoid your financial obligations. It's a common thing that people attempt during divorce proceedings, for example.

The rapist murderer from CFB Trenton did the same, transferring all his assets to his wife. She was fighting the action to reclaim. I hope she lost and had to pay legal costs both sides. Sorry you married a loser.

I'm not sure about ex captain Russel Williams and his pensions. O.J. Simpson's pensions couldn't be taken in his wrongful death suit.

Not bashing the police with this one.
File this under kids today.
Wtf. I don't care how old the offender was, there is something seriously broken inside. Time for reverse onus sentencing where unless you can convince a ton of educated people you aren't a danger to others, you stay locked up to protect society.

"
The older boy, wearing latex gloves, was armed with a lighter and a can of insect repellent, “to create what he termed a ‘do-it-yourself flamethrower.'”

When the homemade flamethrower “failed to fully engulf” the younger boy, according to the statement, the older boy reached for a baseball bat he had at the ready and beat his victim “until he became bloodied and lifeless.”"

Since the killer showed no remorse or emotion, all signs point to him being a sociopath. I feel terrible for the parents. What an awful event.

IIRC.. Williams negotiated his wife keeping some assets as part of his confession and/or plea deal.

That part of the story is actually a little old. The house was sold for just under a million with 600K still owed to CIBC.. BUT.. the family still hasn't received any money from it. It's still in the courts.. I believe it's between the family and CIBC now.. with the family asking that CIBC forfeit its owed portion because it knew about, and participated in, the fraudulent sale.

When cops showed up to the scene of the beating.. The guy was gitty.. happy and proud of what he did. He actually thought he was in the right.

Fine. 25 years for the first one and add 25 for every subsequent one. Would the courts be happy then? Courts have gone completely off the rails and seem focused on protecting the guilty at a level far above the public.

Guy charged with burning downtown orillia last week was bailed in hours. They caught him today carrying a lighter and violating his bail conditions.

A guy in BC just got arrested for failure to comply with deportation x 5. Time for some big face tattoos to make it obvious he isn't welcome here.
