Kitchener/Waterloo area, c u next trackday riders thread!

Here's a video... first session in yellow after lunch.
Following Volgosang for the first 2 laps while tires warm up.. not bad pace, but had to let up for the last 2 laps as my shoulder was really starting to ache...

Will post up a reverse view later (still have to upload it).

Trying to get a little better of course. 3 Corners I REALLY need to work on carrying higher speed through.. Turn 1, 7 (think that's the number - the left at the marshall station) and the left after the chicane...

Having real difficulty setting a solid entry speed.

I'm not really happy at all with the front brake pads Dave and I installed last time at TMP (1.5 track days ago now). Think I might have to get a different set and try them out.

I see yet another inconsistency with TMP's tech. They didn't make you cover your speedometer, but they made me cover mine.

Looks good, but I didn't see any wheelies ;)

Their tech is all over the place.. except that they seem to think that everyone's chain is too loose.
Ask anyone what they think of my chain at the moment, and they'll say it's tight to very tight. Had Colin (guy I bought my Triumph) have a look at it before I went to tech and told him they'd say it was too tight. He said "No way.. that's tight." Sure enough, they thought my chain was too loose.

Never even noticed the speedometer all day actually - first I did was when I was looking at the video.

Same session as above, but with video reversed....

i noticed that, i think i was the only guy who didn't have anything said about the chain.

Video looks great Tim, I need a camera. Any recommendations (go pro, etc)

Now upload a video of me passing you :p

Weather is looking really ugly this weekend at TMP so i might sit it out. :(

try roughing them up with some sandpaper and get some brake cleaner/scratch pad on the rotors first. I've tried honda OEM, EBC, Ferodo, and Galfers. All were pretty close in performance. Do you have SS lines? were they fading or just not there enough? my preference is:

Galfer's
Ferodo's
honda OEM
EBC

Don't waste your time. The sv is known for sh*tty front brakes. Changing pads ain't gonna do squat. Start with ss lines, then upgrade master cylinder and calipers, or get used to the brakes as they are. You can try servicing your calipers. It helped a bit on mine but not even close to the zx6. Four pot vs 6 pot calipers. Big difference just in that.

Good to know, Dan.
Suzi already has the SS braided lines.
The front brakes really stink. When I upped the pace a bit and got on the brakes just a wee bit later they really didn't do the job at all. Babs' and Daenerys' brakes are soooo far superior it's not funny.
Bled the brakes with Steve earlier this year too - completely changed the fluid actually.

Heard that the R6 master cylinder bolts right up and gives significantly better power. Might have to consider that.
Thanks for all the advice guys!

Thanks Dean!

Oh yeah Nick -- sorry bout not replying to your question earlier...
I'd suggest a GoPro before the Contour models. The Contour has real sound issues (white noise and nothing but at speeds over 50 km/h). IF you can find a Contour Roam for under $200, that's a great deal -- the extra case costs $45 and eliminates the white noise. A GoPro costs around $350 IIRC... there's a guy selling a pair of GoPro 720p versions for something like $200. Great deal - jump on that if they're still available.

got a link?

Ok I'm thinking sat at tmp. Looks better than the Monday forecast. I think it'll b a Friday decision. I work Friday night so trailer annangements might be difficult but I think we can figure something out.
