Kitchener/Waterloo area, c u next trackday riders thread!

Crazy... 59 miles. Imagine getting your nice new superbike and only going for one ride before wrecking it.

bet the guy didn't even make it home, look at the tires, they don't even have dirt on them. The mold release is still glistening

DOCC GB weekend or Fri? I'll be with the duc crowd all weekend.Be there late fri aft.

this is just for the GB day on friday.

great track day at GB. Fawaz ran 3 groups, only 5 guys in red, so there was lots of space out there. Track was super slippery in the morning and I almost decked it a couple times in the first session, not even going remotely quick. Had a massive front end slide just getting onto the brakes from high in 3rd gear in the infield, good thing it wasn't under trail braking. After the first session, the track cleaned up nicely, very dusty. 2 guys showed up with a pair of 1199 S's, one in red one in yellow. The guy in red was on the throttle and came wizing by me on the first session with the super-slippery track. That lasted until lunch time until the 1199 lowsided coming on to the front straight, tearing part of the handle bar off, some wiring, various other pieces, and some decent plastic damage. Too bad the throttle assembly and clip on were destroyed or it might have been runnable. The other crash was a 675 on the hairpin after the front straight, low speed, hardly any damage, bike was fine. Great day for all, excellent organization by Racer 5, tech was open on time, on the track at 9:15. Looks like the superbike pro's are going for a 7th track day.

it was a pretty awesome track day

Weather was good also, kept the tires nice and warm

Hats off to racer5 for another great track experience!

Moved up to yellow in the afternoon and was thinking of running a session in red, but didn't want to push my luck

Nice to put user names to actual faces.

Jawad is signed up, hopefully he has time. He's crazy busy getting the business set up and taking some courses...

So this morning I pulled the rear wheel and shock out of my track bike to check (again) for swingarm play. There is significant play. The last time I checked it there seemed to be some, but it was very hard to tell. This time (2 track days later) it's very obviously moving. I'll continue pulling it apart tonight, find what's wrong and get parts on order ASAP.

Any other track days planned this season? One more for me and I'm probably done for the year...

I'm looking at sept 29 at tmp I believe. Smp and tmp are on the same day, figure I'll leave smp for next year when I'm a bit quicker.

i might go to smp

would work so much better if we went on the 9th, but i can see why you guys are going on the Monday.

Have to pull some strings at work, keep you updated.

maybe... really depends on weather/temp. Last year thanksgiving was fantastic, 27 degrees or something at TMP on the monday. If the weather is warm, I'll go, but if it's like that SOAR practise day back in April, that was a bit chilly. People sleeping in their tire warmers to keep them from freezing overnight, haha.
