Kitchener/Waterloo area, c u next trackday riders thread!

Thanks evil, had 2 seams weakened after a crash last year, gave him the suit and some kevlar thread, he's near st.jacobs, does all kinds of leather work. He's a really nice old guy.

Get your suit back yet? What do you think of the work, and what did he end up charging?

Tim - I dropped my suit off yesterday with Aden... seems like a cool guy. We got into a converstaion about perception, and how evil can creep into the unconverted parts of your mind. Then he gave Zane some candy.

All I've got left to do is change the oil in the bikes, and fit some new rubber on the gixxer. Then its time for some track action. Have you put any thought into the logo for our racing association? ( I hear you may be nominated for the 'prettiest bike' ).

yup, $15, it was 3 seams, fairly easy job. Looks good, can't complain about the price, so I picked up 2L of maple syrup from them as well. Cool old guy, some crazy philosophies though, his wife is a bit more down to earth. Really nice lady, she couldn't figure out what you would use something like a leather suit for.

I bought some kevlar thread to get it fixed, wanted something super strong. Its red, but if anyones in need, let me know. Haven't creash tested it yet, but I couldn't break it with my hands.

Anyone else notice weekday (Thursday, Friday) track days at Grand Bend are only $100?
Nice!

Well just registered for April 29th at Grand Bend Motorplex, yay!!!!! I figure ill join you guys on Sunday, signed up for the beginner class.

Good choice on the class, Dan (that's your name, right?)
Now lets just hope the weather cooperates...
Someone I know mentioned snow this week! Ack!!!

You got it Tim, thanks again for the insight. Gave me alot to think about.

Who else has officially signed up for the April 29th day at GB?

So far I know the following will be there: Smergy, gs500f (on his SV1000) and I...
Anyone else?

Come on Doozer... show us how it's done... want to see you kick Smergy's butt on your SV... ;-)

I'll see if I can do that at SMP on May 7th :)

Any idea what track layout they're using at GB that weekend?

Nope... their website is down today.. called, and they said they're not sure at the moment - guess the day was supposed to be a car lapping day, but got switched.
The office staff is waiting for the owner to get back to them on several points of policy (weather cancellation included).

I really liked the "Long Track without hairpin" that we did last year. The technical track(s) and modified track look decent too, but I really liked that keyhole type section before the runway straight.

I just sent them an email on this with a bunch of questions on cancellation, which has been acknowledged, but haven't received a response on it yet.

Quick question ... Trailering the bike down to GB, where do I park ? Does the car come into the "pit area" or do I use general parking ?? Oh and is gas there or do I bring cans lol??

Hey- you just park your car/trailer in the pit area. Good to keep everything together. And you'll need to bring gas.

Tim- I'm planning on going too. Haven't registered yet though.

Hiya... just PMing with GS500f (Dan)....
What time is everyone heading out for GB on the 29th?

Smergy's going on the 28th.
So, the list is: Nick_F, Machine, GS500F, Doozer (Maybe), Me.

Trailers - Nick, GS500F, Dave (Maybe)
Guys without rides - Machine

Nick_F looks to be crashing at my place on Saturday night.
If worst comes to worst, I can probably tow a trailer with 2 bikes and put mine in the bed. It's all flat land, so it shouldn't be a problem. If that's OK with Nick and everyone else of course....

Or, if GS500f can share his trailer, then Machine's got a ride...

Meet up in New Hamburg around 6:40am or so?

Oh, and Dan... a full tank should do ya no probs if you don't have a Jerry can.. most speedy guys run with 1/4 tank or so to lighten the load...

Exit off the road to the main entrance (I believe its the last one if your driving north), camping area on your left, at the end you'll be able to turn right. The pit area is fully paved. I don't like the way they did the track entrance, people exiting the track have to slow right down to make the 90 degree track exit, which is right on the line for the first turn of the course, so just make sure you signal early after the "kink", at the DOCC day last year there was a couple hazardous exchanges getting in/off the track while it was hot.
