22nd is no good for me.. I'm returning from Chicago that day.
15th works better for me. Or, postpone till the first day at Grand Bend.

And if no trailer, rent one from Uhaul for $20.

Hey ScubaSteve...

You heading down to the April 29 track day at GB?
Wouldn't mind having somebody else who's been at the track in green lead me around a few times so I get an idea of lines...

Nick - you grab that trailer???

not yet, still on the fence about it. Being 4x9 might be to big, but it only weighs 370LBS according to the seller.

4x6 will be too small to get the ramp up to the closed position - your tire will extend past the 6' mark a bit. So, if you can find a 4x7 that would work, or a 5x8.

Pure jokes Timmy

Hey Nick...
Jin (SpyRadar) says he may tag along to Grand Bend on Sunday, April 29th.
If you have your trailer by then, could we put his bike on it with yours, and then I'll take Babs on my truck? Figure you guys can split gas that way.
Middle of the week beforehand (April 25th or so) you'll have to let me know if you're crashing at my place on Saturday night too.
Jin can prep his bike at my place on Saturday afternoon etc... maybe get a crew of guys over for a few brews...

I think i can make that!

Ill keep you updated

This may be a silly question and I
Hope I don't get flamed too bad for asking but .... Why does everyone seem to want to trailer the bike down ? Is riding it down not an option ? For GB?? I'm assuming it's just trackday not s.o.a.r ... Kinda run what u brung kinda deal ? I'm interested in getting on the track and I've heard guys riding down before this is why I ask ?

It is just a huge risk. If you crash at the track, you're stuck trying to get home. If you have a great day, you'll be tired and distracted on your ride home. There are people who do it, but I would never do it. I will also never go to a track day alone again. Did it once and it was the most boring day because I knew I shouldn't push it, because if I had a crash and hurt myself I'd need to find someone to help me get home.

Hey GS500f.... +1 to what Dave said...
Other thing you have to remember is that a bunch of us have dedicated track bikes that aren't road legal, plated or insured. So, there's no option except to trailer or transport them down to the track.

If you really want to go down for a track day, you could prep the bike at the track - tape the glass etc etc. If you're riding liquid cooled, you have to change to coolant before you leave (regular green coolant is illegal at the track, as it's like ice if you blow a hose and get it on the pavement).

And, it's nice to have a place to sit down (chair), food, cooler etc etc. Not really an option to carry all that crap on a bike...

As for getting flamed - we're all pretty laid back here... sure, we get the verbal barbs out and poke fun at each other (right, Lowrider?) but honest questions are answered respectfully...

Yeah... like, how dare you think we'd flame you, you idiot... as if we would ever do something so mean, what are ya, new? Jeez... don't ask dumb questions. LOL

To add to what Tim said, don't get the idea that bringing a few water bottles will be enough. I easily drink 4 litres minimum at a moderately warm track day, and a lot more on hot days.

Awesome thanks that all makes sense to me. I wanna get a track day in this year just weighing my options on buying a hitch for the murano and renting a trailer ... This has given me a new angle to look at. I never thought about crashing the bike on the track but I guess it's definetly a possibility ... And it's a LONG walk home lol.

If you've never done a trackday before you should really consider doing the Racer5 intro to track program. Ride their bike, even wear their gear if you want.

anyone know what the price of the GBM day is in april?
